So I ordered by dress about a month ago and now I am having MAJOR anxiety about my decision. I have always imagined myself getting a beautiful full ballgown, well the dress that I ordered is a mermaid style dress that bubbles at the bottom. The dress is Piccione style 410. The dress is beautiful, but I am having major regret, because when I close my eyes and imagine myself walking down the aisle, I still see the ballgown. Any suggestions? Should I try going back and looking for another dress?

Did you get any pictures because there has to be a reason you bought it in the first place? If you felt pressured I’d say go ahead and look around, but if you made the decision on your own then I would wait for it to come in. I was watching SYTTD tonight and the girl came in for a fitting all worried about if she liked her dress or not, but as soon as she got it on she fell back in love.
I’ve bought two dresses so far and both look nice on me and I feel bridal, but I don’t feel like they are “it.” I keep thinking about another dress that I love, but haven’t been able to even try on… Maybe I’m not the best to give advice on this 🙂

Ah don’t worry, by the looks of other posts, you’re not on your own. You obviously loved it to have bought it, would it be worth going to the bridal shop and trying it on again so you can get that feeling? I think your anxiety is stemming from it’s not the dress that you imagined yourself to wear, which again happens alot. I fell in love with the first dress I tried on but am having doubts because it’s not what I wanted. Have you got a picture fo yourself in it? I’m sure you look beautiful in it.

I would agree! I compromised a little on my dress as well. I love love love lace and wanted an all lace dress but my mom and my fiance both hate all lace dresses (he didn’t see my dresses but he’s commented over my shoulder a few times while I was looking at dresses). So eventually I got a dress that was only half lace (Enzoani Casablanca) and everytime I seem images of all lace dresses I feel a HUGE sense of regret but then I realize that I will look beautiful and if it will make two people (who are really important to me) a little bit happier than its def worth it!
So I agree.. you should try to remember why you picked that dress and figure out if those reasons are still true. The truth is, there are a lot of decisions to make and you will drive yourself crazy if you keep second guessing yourself.

I just looked it up, and I think I can see why you picked it (I’m a ballgown girl, myself). The dress isn’t a ballgown, but it has a really full skirt for a mermaid, and I’m guessing that those darts on the bodice and the dropped waist are super flattering on you. It looks like a couture gown, and it’s just gorgeous.
I would go to the shop you bought it at and try it on again. I think you’ll remember why you thought it was the one :).

Thank you for all the advice everyone! Ok this is what happened, it was my very first time going to try on dresses, first we went to Davids and there was some there that I liked, then we went to Alfred Angelo and I told the consultants that I wanted a ballgown and that I loved the dresses with pickups(where it bunches together), another consultant at the store mentioned I try on the Piccione dress,(which wasn’t what I was looking for, but I figured it was worth a shot), I put it on and I really liked it alot. I had another appointment that day so I told them that I would go to the other appointment, and I would be back if it was still my favorite. So I went into the other appointment kind of thinking it was a waste of time because I thought I had made my mind up, but what really happened is I found another dress there that I really loved too and then it all started getting kind of overwhelming, another thing was hard was because my mom and my friend and I kind of all have different taste, so their was multiple opinions. Well I went back to Alfred and tried on the dress again and I stood there forever before I said OK lets order it. The dress is beautiful, don’t get me wrong, I’m just not sure if I just ordered it because I wanted to be have a dress picked out or if it really is the ONE! And now I keep obsessing about the fact that I have always dreamed of a ballgown and that when I close my eyes and see myself on that day, that is what I see myself in…. I’m so conflicted!
jo.lee, you are right I did like the fuller skirt on the mermaid and the detail is really pretty! I do think I need to go back and try it on at the store again, and when I do, I think one of two things will happen, I will either LOVE IT and feel at ease, or still have doubts and if I do, I think I might need to go to plan B.
I will attach a picture of the dress, I don’t have one of me in it, and honestly the picture online doesn’t do it much justice, but it will give everyone an idea.

@countrybride2be: Do you have a picture of the other, ballgown-style dress that you also love?

I don’t have an exact picture of the one that I tried on but I will attach a picture of what I am thinking! I love the Maggie Sottero ballgowns with pickups!

I don’t like pick ups, but I remember seeing that Piccione dress and thinking how beautiful it is. I would go try it on again and see how you feel.
