I completely lost my voice today. Can't do anything but whisper!  I am so worried that this is only the start of getting sick, or that my FI is going to get sick after me!

Anybody have good remedies I could use!

First off...STOP TALKING...whispering is worse than trying to talk with what voice you do have left!  I would start carrying around a notepad and only text people!  The only thing that has ever worked for me is to wait it out and talk only when it's an emergency!  Drink lots of hot fluids, I hear that tea is the best.

You have plenty of time to get your voice back, but you need to be really nice to it!

Complete and utter voice rest is really the key - and in 24 hours you'll see improvement.
Also avoid dairy products as they tend to build up phlegm and make matters worse(I worked with opera singers, they only drank black coffee or hot water with lemon)

Just keep your calm, think good thoughts and you'll be 100% on your wedding day!

It wouldn't hurt to run to the doctor.  It's probably just a cold, if not then you want to get started on antibiotics NOW rather than waiting a few days until you're really sick.  And I second the dairy - very bad for congestion of any kind.  If it is some kind of virus, Lysine is a good immune booster, and you can get it in the supplement section at any drugstore.

Gargle warm salt water several times daily.

This might sound gross, but, I've been told by many of my muscial theater friends that apple juice is the closest in consistency and pH balance to human spit.  I am hoarse!! Wedding in 12 days! : wedding Icon Eek  They all swear by it in the days leading up to a show to lube their vocal chords and keep everything clear.

Lots of hot liquids, with honey.  Try to avoid creamer, for the same reason Mrs Allgood noted. I was sick once and got better after a couple days when i was drinking tea non-stop.  All the coughing and irration got better because of intense hydration.

    Thanks for all your advice!

So now I am gargling with salt walter as much as possible, will gargle with vinegar and honey when I get home (solution from co-worker!), I am taking airborne every 4 hours, Drinking apple juice, NOT TALKING!, and will remember to take my multivitamin.  I will drink lots of tea with honey and get extra rest and eat chicken soup(advice from my MOH), and no dairy products. I think that covers it!

I am also going to make sure FI takes airborne and his multivitamin.  And of course I'll keep my fingers crossed.
