Everytime we make a decision, I think of a reason I don’t want to go anymore. Most recently, we decided on Antigua and I decided it’d be too boring. I don’t want to go to Jamaica because it would be too touristy. I want to be able to lay on the beach pretty much alone and then be able to go do something really fun (parasailing, jet skiing, see some really cool animals, etc) but I can’t find anything!

all resorts where you can do things like that are going to be pretty touristy. how is antigua boring? don’t most all-inclusives offer activities?

This one doesn’t really.. there are fishing boats and ‘guided walks’ and thats about it. it seems like a lovely place, but not what i’m looking for. to be honest, i have no idea what i’m looking for, maybe thats the problem

Consider: St.John, Turks & Caicos, Cayman Islands. We went to antigua last Feb and had a great time; beautiful beaches (they have 365 of them!). We stayed in a smaller, boutique resort but there were many all-inclusives spread around the island.

I have a friend who just got back from Tahiti and loved it.

Go to Sandals in Antigua. It’s anything but boring!

Have you thought about somewhere in Central America? Costa Rica, Belize, maybe? There are some beautiful beaches in both countries, plus opportunities to do fun things and explore without it feeling like a standard vanilla tourist package…

I wouldn’t worry about it being too boring. I went on a cruise, which normally I’d say is boring but I was so exhausted it was nice to just sit there and not worry about a thing! It’ll be amazing wherever you go, b/c you’re going with your new hubby.

Are you set on a Caribbean/tropical vacation? What about Greece or the Amalfi coast, where you get a beachy experience but there’s lots of sightseeing and things to do beyond that?

I second Greece. Beautiful scenery, and not at all boring.

Yes come to Greece! I live here and trust me, the landscape and beaches are just stunning.
