Can you be more specific about what you want – indoor/ outdoor? Feeling of the place (barn, ballroom, etc)? What do you want that $5500 to cover – just the site rental? All rentals? Everything including food?

If the $5500 is just venue and not catering, I’d highly recommend the Cherry Blossom

Fantastic paddle wheel boat that will take you on a cruise along the Potomac and/or the Anacostia. Needs very little decor As the interior is gorgeous and tasteful and colorful. Docks in old Town but you can have pickup at National Harbor if you prefer. Outstanding staff. Feel free to PM me for any details. They did my wedding and I could not have been happier!

Cheasapeake Bay beach club… lots of weddings are done there but only one per day.  Its on the water but have 2 indoor venues. I believe their venue price was about that or cheaper.  We were able to get our venue for free but we were looking into thier catering company Uptown Catering. Take a look at photographer Mike Busada he has done lots of weddings there recently and has posted.  I think he did one there this past March.  Also, ask your photographer.  If they are reputable they have probably been everywhere and can help you!

My bad didn’t see the August date it says March in your profile. August would be great there beautiful ceremony outside on the water and then go into the tent or ballroom.  I am in Annapolis and pretty much have everything done and have done a TON of research so if you need help feel free to PM me. Another gorgeous venue is Historic Inns of Annapolis.

http://www.historicinnsofannapolis.com/wedding/weddings.aspx They do not have a venue fee, are reasonably priced and the food is awesome.  They book up quickly. Call in December 2013 and they were booked for Nov 2014. Walking distance to a few churches or they have an area to do ceremonies on site.  Good LUck!

Have you taken a look at St. Francis Hall in DC? It’s just what it says it is, a hall, but it’s still pretty, and I believe it was within your budget from what I remember.

My fiance and I just picked a venue, after the 12th time! We have a similar guest count and timeline, so let me know if you want me to list all the places we visited since i think we may have a similar budget.

jkewedding:  We did not end up going with St. Francis Hall though. Also, Alwyngton Manor was also very pretty. At the time we visited, the owner was running a promotion and her price would’ve been $5500. I’m not sure if that is what it is now, but it wouldn’t hurt to negotiate.

beautyofdreams:  Regency at Dominion Valley was my favorite country club that we looked at if you’re willing to travel to Haymarket. Everything has been newly renovated, so everything’s new and elegantly modern.

beautyofdreams:  For our budget, yes, it was way too much over our budget. But you may have better luck. Everything’s a la carte, so it’s as expensive as you want to make it.

beautyofdreams:  Also, I had a bad experience with the owner of the Carlyle Club. We had an appointment with the Carlyle Club, but we never got to go because traffic was so terrible that day. I didn’t have a contact number for the owner, and so I e-mailed him trying to reschedule but never heard back. I didn’t bother trying to reach out anymore because he seemed really distant after finding out that his inital prices were not within our budget.

He said the only way he could make it work with our budget is if we had it on a Friday/Sunday, so I didn’t think it would hurt to check it out. After that whole ordeal with traffic and not being able to contact him, I just screw it because he clearly only cares about you if you have money.

On another note, have you also considered the GW Masonic Memorial for your venue? It’s not a country club, obviously, lol, but that was also on my list. We didn’t check it out, but looking at different photography blogs, it looked pretty.
