For our wedding, our ceremony will be in Las Vega at an outdoor terrace in the evening. Our reception is back home (different dress, future post LOL) For the ceremony, I just got a white party dress, the one pictured below. The skirt part of the dress's lines are more glittery/spakly than it looks in the picture. The glitter is kind of a gold color.

I am not a shoe person. I wear plain black shoes for work as required at a job I've worked for the last 8 years. At home I wear flip flops or tennis shoes. I think I have a pretty cute style but I have never been up to date with shoes. And I'm incredibly embarrassed to say that I could not tell you what a wedge or platform or whatever is. To me, shoes with heels = heels, shoes without heels = flats or tennis shoes. I hate heels though. I know a lot of people say "oh my feet are killing me" but really for me I just can hardly stand it. It's my wedding day, why should my feet be in agony?! I am 5'1" though so I don't think I should wear flats. My sister is going with me to pick out shoes tomorrow but she's soooo into fashion that she picks out these crazy things that I just don't know about.

My bouquet for the ceremony is red roses. I have no jewelry picked out what so ever. I dunno how I am going to wear my hair either (which is shoulder length and very layered).

So someone please share some suggestions with me (color, shoe type, heel height, etc)--anything. I have no idea what would be appropriate or look alright with the dress. After the ceremony we'll be going out to dinner and than dancing/site-seeing so my feet need to last a while in the shoes.

    Thank you!

Are you totally opposed to wearing any kind of heel? A wedge heel might be an option for a non-heel wearer if you are concerned about your height. They tend to be more comfortable and have more support than regular heels. If you are really against heels, you could go with some cute flat sandals.

I would maybe go for gold shoes if the glittery part of your dress is gold.

I don't know how you feel about colored shoes, but a pair of (red) peep-toes would be really cute.  They're the ones that look like heels, with a hole at the toe.  You definitely don't have to get red -- a muted gold would also look really nice!  I think a heel as opposed to a sandal would look better with the dress and they're easier to walk in.  And, not all heels are uncomfortable to wear.  I'm pretty short so I'm always bebopping around in heels and I have a few that feel like walking on air!  Just make sure to walk around a little when you try on the shoes, to see how they feel when you walk and to make sure they don't rub your feet or fall off.  AND, buy the band-aid shoe rub!  You rub it on your feet when you wear heels and it keeps you from getting blisters!  You can get it at almost any drugstore!

Since you don't like heals you probably only want it to be about 2-3 inches. If you go to Nordstrom's online look up these

My best advice would be to drive yourself to Rack Room Shoes, Shoe Carnival or DSW and start looking at shoes you like with a heel... then expand outward to shoes that might be heels, but have great soles (I have a pair of these wedges, about 3 inches tall, that are so comfy, I can wear them all day! AND I HATE HEELS!).

Also, look into the Cole Haan Nike Air shoes. They are expensive but may be what you need.

Finally--if worst comes to worst, find a pair of flats that are strappy, not quite gladiator shoes but that go up your ankles just a bit so it gives your shoes some "height," making them look less flat. Good luck!

Here a a list of shoes I found for you on the Nordstrom website (just type the name in the search box) :

"Prissy" Sandal ( these should be comfortable because they are made my Nautralizer)

    "Havana Slide"

    "Pinky" slide

    "Delovely" sandal

All of these are in the gold color family and  have a pretty low heal (about 2-3 inches tall).

These are in the red family but are harder to find with low heals:

    "Merryann"

    "Tinas"

    "Muse"

    Hope this helps!

Since you are "vertically challenged" I am not a shoe person so I need major help! : wedding Icon Wink I would suggest wearing heels, but since you don't wear them very often, I would go with a wedge - they will give you the height and be much for comfortable.

Your dress is adorable! Since you are carrying a red rose bouquet, why not go with a red shoe? I think it would look great! Here are some suggestions:

If you want to stay with a white shoe to match your dress, try these:
