Eep that’s a dilemma!  Would you be able to sell your original dress for a decent amount?  Or find the other one for not a lot of money?  Have you tried the other dress on?  Some dresses just don’t look right on a real person.

Is that the Watters Austin? I loooove that one, but it’s out of my price range.

Anyway. your dress looks very pretty on you. Maybe if you tried the Watters on, it wouldn’t look right and then you could get it out of your system. Or maybe, if it does look good, you can ssell your current dress.

Uh Oh!!!

I am a firm believer that you must love your dress! Is that first beauty in your budget. Could you try to recoup some costs by selling the other dress?

Rosiegirl, you should go try it on to make sure you love it on your body.  If you do, it is not a problem if you can’t afford it because you have time to get it custom made by an etsy seller for way less.  Check out ateliertami, bridalblissdesigns, cicibridal, and I’m sure there are more out there.  You can definitely get it made and sell the old one.  It’s so important to love your dress!

If you go on Netbride.com, you can get the Watters Austin for $1600. Still out of my price range, though. 🙁

If the Watters is out of your budget, is there anyway you can make some changes to your dress to make it similar?  Maybe add a sweetheart neckline and a sash with some flowers on the side?

@Rosie – I didn’t love dresses when I was dress shopping and then discovered a Judd Waddel dress in a magazine that I just had to have!  I didn’t settle for what was in every bridal salon and eventually found something very similar in a lot of ways and possibly even better.

That Watters dress is beautiful!  And I think that style is pretty popular right now…I bet you can find something similar closer to your price range.

@rosie girl, I fell in love with a dress waaayyy out of my price range, and I’ve never even seen it for sale on a preowned dress site. I just had to let it go and move it. It was really hard and honestly I cried haha. But sometimes you can’t have “the one”, that’s why it’s best to only look within your price range – there is always something more expensive that’s “better”.

I love both dresses… maybe you can find something similar? Sarahhsd is right, that is popular right now.

Also – an idea. If you’re able to find a more simple chiffon dress, there are soo many etsy sellers who sell those handmade chiffon sashes.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/FascinatingCreations This seller makes a bunch of things and does custom orders as well, if you show her the picture, she could make the flowers into a sash I’m sure.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/bridalblissdesigns This seller does custom wedding dresses. When I was down and out about my dress, I sent her a picture of it and asked for a quote, the dress I wanted was an $8200 dress, and she said she could make it for $700. WOW. She was a seamstress working in a bridal shop for about 7 years, then it had to close down, so now she’s trying to run her own custom bridal business, so she tries to keep her prices low since she’s just starting off.

This seller also makes custom sashes and headpieces.

I hope this helps hon!

The dress is very pretty.  But, if it makes you feel any better, I get the sense that it probably wouldn’t be flattering on most people.

I think you would look beautiful in either Smile

If you are truly not happy, sell it! It will show on your day.
