I am not familiar with those cities you mentioned. But is half hr drive ok? Seems kinda far between ceremony & reception. What city is the town that your FI wants to have the reception & has only one church? Is your date non-negotiable?
Thank you pren79. I would like it to be less than a half an hour, just was putting it out there. The town he wanted has a super tiny city population so thats why it only has one church : )
The date is set because we already found where we will hold the reception.
I am just going to have to keep searching....
Hello :)
I am originally from Danville and there is a church named St. Isidores that is very pretty...also in San Ramon there is a church named St. Joan of Arc. Both are Catholic. Hope this helps!!

Hello Wedding Bees....
I just discovered this site, and this will be my very first post. I am hoping for some honey! Lol.
I am looking for a beautiful church in the bay area (in Northern California). We haven't made a concrete decision on exactly where we will marry, but we know it will be somewhere in the bay area. We have eliminated a few cities (where he works, etc.) but are mostly open.
Our situation is this: I want to marry in a church. He has not been raised religious. I was raised Catholic, and while I retain my spiritual beliefs, have found I am better suited with other sects of Christianity. That said, I don't attend services at any particular place, but still feel I want to marry in a church. He is very willing to marry me in a church, but won't agree to a full mass (Catholic).
The only part of the wedding he has put any input in so far, is that he really wants the recepiton in a certain small town that is special to him. I am sure some brides can relate to the groom not being super involved, so it excites me to try and accomodate the one thing he is excited about! The town he wants has only one church, and it is booked on our date. This leaves me searching for churches within a half hour or less drive so our guests dont want to kill us! If I could find a church in San Ramon, Pleasanton, Danville or the nearby cities, it would be great! Any reccomendations?
I am totally open for other suggestions in the bay area as well, but I love him so much and want to try and surprise him. If we do find one in this area, I have a reception site already scouted (that we can afford) so it would be magic! We expect around 85 guests, so anywhere that fits 100 works.
I know I am very wordy, and appologise. Thank you for reading this. I look forward to your replies!
