Bees! I have emailed literally 20 photographers this morning. I feel like everyone is already booking up and we need to move fast. NOW, I feel overwhelmed and I do not know who to eliminate or how to narrow things down. I need your help.

I personally like the style of pretty petal studio better. Have you met with them? We met with a couple photgraphers before choosing one and it was SO helpful. They’ll be with you ALL day on your wedding day, so it was nice to see who we felt the most comfortable with. We also learned a lot about how they do business etc. by meeting with them that we didn’t get through email. So if you’re really stuck, try and set up a meeting! Good luck!

They both look good based on their websites. Have you asked for a whole wedding from either of them? Many photographers can cherry pick their best 1-2 photos from a few different weddings and look great on a website, so it’s hard to tell just from that.

I like Pretty Petal Studio better! Their pictures look more professional and higher end, in my opinion. The other is good too, just not as impressive to me.

They are both great. I liked most of Pretty Petals. The other I didn’t like some of them, but LOVED others.

It depends on your style. Nicolas Griner is more modern/ contemporary whereas pretty petal is much more romantic and vintage. Personally, I love the vintage look but it really depends on the look of your wedding.

@McFierce: Thats the problem haha my fiance is much more modern and I am love the romance of pretty petals.
@amwoods: I have emailed them and am waiting for a time to meet them.

If I were booking a photographer I wouldn’t even consider one without a blog, so that automatically eliminates #1. #2 looks a bit more polished anyhow, and while I’m not a big fan of vintage processing her technical skills seem pretty solid. Her processing while leaning towards vintage seems to drift back to more standard styles in her blog posts, so I’d be wondering how consistent the final product is. Ask to see a full wedding. Her website doesn’t really tell me much about her personality which I think is the biggest factor (or should be) in deciding on a photographer. It’s good that you are meeting her.

#2 for sure. That photography is super pretty, more romantic and sort of magical 🙂

I like both of them, but they are VERY different styles. You need to figure out what you want.

They are very different, as PP have said. I like #1 better, though I tend to like the more modern styles better. Bright colors, interesting backdrops, crisper edges. The vintage filtering is nice and very romantic, but I don’t want my photos to look dated way before their time. Just a personal preference 🙂

Both seem to do a great job, but I prefer pretty petal 🙂

I prefer #1 by a mile, but then again I really loathe the whole pee-colored sky editing on the second. I know a lot of people really love that style but I just don’t care for it and think it will look dated very quickly (JMHO).

I definitely prefer Pretty Petal Studio, I like their style a lot better. Their detail shots are amazing.
