Oh God, I am feeling so ignorant and strange–
Can anyone tell me how does a Charmues silk gown with sleeves will look like–?
I mean, if you have pictures or some way to explain the texture and behaviour of Charmues Silk —
PS–It’s my first post and I am a fashion blind, dumb and deaf—I was raised in a strictly puritanical convent, my fashion sense died before taking birth—
( have I spelt the charmuese right ? )

Thank You , Mayabean
I have just a vague idea of a dress what I want, problem is I am neither fashion savvy nor very knowledeable about fabric and material; besides I am living in a far far away sort of country, on-line shopping is the only option I have…without actually seeing the fabric or dress–

I’m not sure why, but for some reason I found this post kind of adorable. 🙂
Anyway, I love charmeuse. It comes in either synthetic or silk varieties, of which silk will obviously be of better quality. I think of silk charmeuse like water…soft, light, delicate, and flowy. It will have a little bit of a sheen and luster to it on one side of the fabric (the other side is dull), like satin, but softer and lighter. It can be a little hard to wear because it tends to be clingy and show all body flaws, but it is a beautiful fabric if you can wear it!
I’m not sure what kinds of sleeves you’re looking for, but here are a few charmeuse dresses (not necessarily silk) that aren’t strapless:
