Period. I dont buy it unless its at least on sale. Better yet clearence! Me and my Fiance are already parents to a 1 year old boy and Ive realized being younger, still in college, only one of us working things are tight. (And Ive noticed that living with two boys makes you go out of food wayyyyy faster!) So Ive really become a pro at getting things cheap. Today my mom asked me if we are paying the bills because I shop all the time. I had to laugh. I dont really “shop” I get what I need and dont buy it until I get it at the lowest price possible. And honestly….I like this way of living and hope to take it with me even after money isnt such a big issue anymore. =)
Any other ladies bargain shoppers and proud of it???? Anyone have any great deals they just HAVE to tell someone about?!?!?! Talk away!

i am ABSOLUTELY a bargain shopper, and proud of it! the Fiance laughs because everytime i come home we play “guess how much this originally cost v. guess how much i paid for it”
my most recent good deal was the cutest little dress that i got from marshall’s for $3!
and i love how grocery stores tell you how much you saved at the bottom of the receipt now – it makes me happy haha

Well I got all my vendors to lower their price 20 percent from asking price when planning the wedding. (Or sometimes lower…)
That is pretty bargain shopping to me!

I am definatly a bargain shopper. My mom was & now I am. Sure I occasionally splurge & buy stuff at tag price; but not usually. If I do; I still look for Buy one get one 1/2 off or something. Or i’ll open their charge card and get 20% off. lol anything to save a buck!!

I’m with you ladies, more specifically like you MissFlipFlops. My Fiance and I have a 1-year old son together, and between caring for a young one, saving up for the wedding, paying off student debt (ick), and just life in general, I’m trying to be as frugal as possible.
My mom raised me to be a bargain shopper, and I’ve always been of the opinion “why pay full price, when I can get it cheaper?”
Some of my wedding-related bargain buys:
2 brand-new authentic wedding dresses – $300.00
3 brand-new After Six bridesmaid dresses – $180.00 ($60.00 per unit)
Cathedral-length veil – $20.00
DIY wedding invitation kit (120 invites, envelopes, rsvp cards, envelopes) – $30.00
Guest book (matches invites) – $8.00
Grooms gift (Elgin pocket watch appraised at $600.00) – $45.00
I don’t feel cheap or tacky doing this, it makes me feel great! By searching out bargains, I’m freeing up more room in our wedding budget to “wine and dine” our guests better, and hopefully we will have some money left over from the budget to go towards our down payment on our house!

Fi and I love being bargain shoppers. we are the coupon cutting king and queen!
thanks to fmil’s newspaper lady, we get stacks of the weekly grocery coupon circulars… we clip and cut the ones we need and watch the weekly grocery ads for when things are on sale…
last saturday we had $189 worth of groceries.. and we only paid $120…. $69 in coupons from newspapers!! 🙂
as far as wedding bargains… i’ve managed to get our A+ 3 tier cake (fresh fruit filling) to feed 200+ ppl for ($289)…. chair covers ($1.50/chair&sash&setup&breakdown)
Bridesmaid or Best Man giftbags $30/each, veil ($17), && misc diy projects 🙂

I’ll buy things if they’re not “on sale” as long as they’re affordable. This usually means that I don’t get anything designer new (Ebay!) or else I’m scouring the Outnet, Gilt sales, etc.
I’m proud that I can get way more for my money and have quality clothes and shoes for way less than they retail for!

I LOVE bargain hunting. I’m definitely a TJMaxx/Marshall’s kind of girl and even if it’s above a certain price point there, I won’t get it. Ross rocks too.

I bargain shop like crazy. I bought a pair of shoes for the wedding at Marshalls and returned them when I decided they were a little too bright and I could find a better color online. While I was returning them I found out all shoes were on sale for $5 the next day but if you already knew about the sale you could use it then. I returned those puppies that I paid $22 for and bought them right back for $5. SCORE! I saved $40 off retail price. That’s probably my favorite bargain buy.

I’ve found a lot of good resources for baby items, to the point that I almost don’t want to register for all this full price stuff!
For my wedding, we did a ton of DIY, etc etc.
Also, my dress…I took a risk on waiting so long, but the rack one fit me like a GLOVE, so I waited until they sold it off the rack and got a discount..NO alterations required! Plus, my mom asked what they would give us if we paid CASH, and they gave me my chapel length veil FREE.
