I am so sorry, I am mad at the NAVY too for you that they wouldnt let him come home.  He does such amazing things for other people he doesnt even know (like me) and while I can tell you he is appreciated for all that he does nothing will ever make up for the fact that to do that he has to be away from you at such an important time.
My heart is breaking for you – and we are here for you so VENT away!!

Oh no!!! I can’t even imagine how sad that would make me 🙁  One of my best friends, and the reason FI and I met, is unable to attend our wedding because of the Army, and I’m upset enough about that! *hugs*

@peachacid:  Booo that sucks. Hopefully he likes his career in general, though. Not my cup of tea.. I don’t know how people can do it!

My aunt and uncle couldn’t make my parent’s wedding for the same reason!

They were both in the navy, stationed on the same ship!

They went out and had a great time the next time they got shore leave.

@peachacid:  Oh no. 🙁  That IS sad. I would be upset, too.  I’m so sorry that he cannot be there for you — and with you — on this incredibly important day in your life.  I’m sure he and your parents are quite sad about it, too.

Maybe he could write a letter (probably an e-mail at this point, given that your wedding is next week) to you and your DH to express his love and greetings and have one of your parents read it at the reception so that he could still somehow have a presence that day?

(((HUGS!)))

I’m so sorry :(. Could you try to Skype with him, either in the morning while you’re getting ready or that night for a short chat at the reception, so that he could still “see” you on your big day?

I understand, My fiance was a Marine for 4 years of our relationship and he missed out on so many things…but now he is out! Anyway, you just have to keep in mind that he is out there protecting your right to have this beautful wedding. He may not be able to make it, but you know that he will be thinking of you. Those men and women sacrifice so much for others it’s best not to get upset…only makes them feel worse and unappreciated. You’ll see him soon and you can show him all the lovely pictures you’ll have 🙂

TO @peachacid:  ah hon, that is sad news (((( BIG HUGS )))) to you

Agree with Brielle: , lol in the “olden days” (aka my first Wedding)… it was very very common for someone at the Reception to read out the Telegrams, Faxes, Cards etc from those who couldn`t make it

A very sweet gesture for sure

Heck nowadays technology is a great thing, even for the guys & gals in service.  I bet you could record / televise your Wedding for him… or he could Skype you at some point etc.

He doesnt have to be totally absent Id imagine.

I`d be off exploring options.

TO @peachacid: lol, you made me laugh out-loud

I sense your frustration of late…

Easy to tell you are coming down to the wire now Wedding wise…

As you have a severe case of PMS (pre-marriage syndrom)

Lucky for you it will be all gone in just a weeks time

By this time next Saturday… youll be a Married Lady, and kicking off your shoes and rockinthe dance floor

Ahhh, bliss !!
