So my Grandma told me a funny story about her wedding night earlier today. It started with my Grandpa saying that he remembered my Grandmother being upset about something in a hallway. That’s all he could remember from his wedding day after 50 years. Well after looking confused my Grandma’s face looked like a little light bulb turned on.
She thinks she was upset about something sneaky that her sister and another bridesmaid did. Apparently they snuck off at the beginning of the reception and my Grandma knew they were up to no good. It turns out that they had gone home to get into my grandma’s honeymoon luggage. They sewed all of her panties shut with the sewing machine!
My Grandma is also afraid of snakes. Her Mom, Father, and brother also put a fake coiled up snake under the top pair of panties. I couldn’t help, but laugh when she told me this. I would be so livid if somebody did that to me! I have to say that I’m kind of tempted to do that to a friend though! ….*cough* using new panties to fake it of course.

I wouldn’t be upset I would laugh! Well scream first if I found my phobia (spiders) in the suitcase but as soon as i knew it was a joke I’d be laughing personally!

@j_jaye: From the looks my grandparents gave while telling the story I think my Grandpa was laughing his head off. My Grandma was still upset telling the story until I started laughing! I’d probably find it funny too! I just can’t imagine somebody trying to pull that off….

I would probably cry. First I would scream when I found the snake and then I would crybecause all my panties were sewn shut and I wouldn’t have anything to wear.
I know that’s lame. But seriously after all the wedding hype my emotions would be so over the place I would probably cry.
That is a really funny story though!

Our Bridal Party (mostly the guys & oh ya The Dads…) got a hold of our rental car. They did a real number on it.
The usual of writing JUST MARRIED on the back window… but they also filled the backseat with balls of newspaper… to the point there was no backseat at all… then the took off the hubcaps and filled them with stones (so they rattled), the AC in the car with confetti, and got into our suitcases and poured a ton of confetti into them too
So our Wedding Night was a lot of fun as we drove off to our Hotel. Couldn’t believe what the inside of our suitcases looked like… we laughed a lot at that one (poor Hotel Cleaning Staff the next day)
Although we shook out or clothes on Day Two outside, when we came home from our honeymoon a week later, we still were still finding confetti in our clothes, and occasional flakes were found here and there in the suitcase for years to come.
Good memories & Great fun… that didn’t get too out of hand.

@This Time Round: Oh my goodness! I’ve heard of some crazy things happening with the getaway cars, but your family went over the top! I can’t imagine how long it must have taken to ball up that much newspaper!
