I bought a Clarisonic a few days ago becuase of all the good reviews I read about it. My I am hesitant on whether I should start using it everyday so close to my wedding (now 3 weeks away) as I’m afraid it will make my skin worse at first rather than better becuase of the purging phase. Anyone else have any tips/advice? Anyone using Clarisonic now?

I would reccomend using it, but not every day. I used it every day for a week when I got mine and the purging was so gross. Try every other day or every two days. It makes your skin crazy soft.

oh thaks for the advice. I’ve been using it for 3 days now and noticing my skin is soft but getting a few small red bumps here and there which I didnt have before. I’ll use it every other day and see how it turns out!

I never had the purge phase. But given you are already bumpy I would say to step away until post wedding pictures!!

I say don’t use it till after the wedding. When I started using mine, my skin felt wonderful for two weeks. Week three and four were an utter disaster. I know everyone reacts differently but no point in taking chances before your big day.

I use the clarisonic (every other day or every 2 days usually) and while I recommend it..if you have sensitive skin in any way you may still have a breakout in 3 weeks. I have sensitive skin and will occassionally still get a few bumps the day after I use it but I also use a prescription antibiotic/face cream that seems to help minimize and reduce the length of time I have any blemishes. Hard to really give a definitive answer because everyone reacts differently to the device.

The clarisonic broke me out like crazy, and it took forever to clear back up. Everyone reacts differently, but I’d reccomend staying away (or maybe using it once a week) until after the wedding 🙂

Everyone’s skin is different, I can use the Carisonic everyday and not have any issues. It made my skin smooth and evened out the tone, but I apparently have the most dedicated blackheads because it didn’t do a damn thing for them.

No I wouldn’t do anything new to your skin this close to your wedding. A few months ago would have been a better time to start. Wait until after.

Charmed3: Can you share the name of the cream you use to limit the length of time you have breakouts?

@somethingblue04 – it’s Duac gel – I use a generic called : clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide gel, 1.2%/5%
for me personally, I think the clindamycin helps a lot – I use it every night on my face where I have any spots or where it looks like I may have a blemish forming. Hope this helps!

I also have the clarisonic and it did not break me out. But one thing to be aware of is that you have to make sure the brush dries properly or else bacteria will grow on it and that might break you out
I think you should wait until after your wedding to
