Oh my gosh, welcome to the addiction. You REALLY need to get Sure Cuts A Lot. Basically you can download tons of free fonts and cut them via your Cricut, so now you don’t need to buy boatloads of cartridges. You can also create shapes or whatever you want in Adobe Illustrator, save as an SVG file and then import it into SCAL. It’ll save you a TON of money and give you SO many options. It probably sounds a bit confusing, but after you try it out you’ll understand. I’m so glad I bought that program. PM me if you need any help!
If you ever see a Cuttlebug on sale grab it because they are SO much fun! I love being able to emboss. I also have a Yudu for screen printing (going to do my invitations). It’s my goal to keep Provocraft’s yearly margins up I think…. LOL!
@Jessica22580 – Cricut’s are about $300 I think but I’ve heard in the States you can get them on sale at Joanne’s for $99. Lucky Americans!!! I got mine off Ebay for about half price (or at least my family did, it was a birthday present).

@jessica22580 – the one i got was regularly $399.99 but Michaels had it on sale for $299.99 (it’s the big one, the 24″ cutter) they have a regular price $299.99 one (smaller) then one that’s about $100 & something dollars. I went with the bigger one because I didn’t want to say in the future, “I should’ve got the bigger one” lol
@bakerella – I will definately check out sure cuts a lot. I’ve been eyeing the cuttlebug too so that’s on my list as well. Msister does silk-screening so I’m going to be tapping into her talents for some projects as well. It did sound a bit confusing but I’m going to take my time and read the book before I try to even do anything. I’ll def send you a message if I need any help. Thanks!

Congrats! Your paper world is totally gonna change. 🙂
Don’t forgot about all the non-paper applications like using mini-sharpies, stamp-cutting, and even fondant/gum paste (they just made a cricut for bakers, but some say you don’t need to buy a whole new one).
Get SCAL as soon as you can! It REALLY makes a difference. If you’re sneaky, you can find the download lurking on the interwebs for free.
And for those who are 2011 brides, consider getting one the day after Thanksgiving. I got my Expression for $188 (regularly $350+).
