I purchased my dress back in November and have had nagging doubts about it. At the time, I was really sick of shopping and just wanted to choose something. So, I bought a dress that I wasn’t 100% satisfied with. It came in last week, I tried it on again and all of the old doubts resurfaced x10. I don’t know exactly what it is… I feel like it looks like it’s poor quality or more of a “party” than “wedding” dress. It’s the non-lace dress.
So, I went dress shopping again, not expecting to find anything and then fell in love with this dress off the rack (the lace dress with the beaded neckline). It’s much more romantic and I feel like it looks more like a wedding dress.
Came home and put the other dress back on and now I feel like I overacted and went out and bought a new dress when I didn’t need to.
Which one is nicer? Either way I’ve wasted lots of time and money (go me!) and I just want to feel comfortable on the special day (which is coming up very fast!).

Personally, I think the top dress is more flattering on your figure! It gives you a lovely waist 🙂

- Wedding: November 2009 - New York, NY
Is it you wearing both dresses? I like the first dress better.

the first dress is so gorgeous!! I actually don’t like the second dress at all

First dress is more figure flattering.

The first one is the one I bought back in November… I should have thougt about it a little longer before buying the second one!
Maybe I can beg the store to give me somewhat of a refund on the second one. It hasn’t been altered yet.

Robyn0214: No, just that I was having second thoughts about the first one and then went out and bought the second one. The wedding doesn’t start until 5:30 so I think it would be a bit much to wear two dresses. I’d only be in each one for 3-4 hours!

I agree with everyone, the first dress looks awesome.

I really like the 2nd dress on you far better! The skirt is fun and the lace shows off your body. I think once the bodice is fitted to you, it will look really good. IMO, the first dress has too much going on around the hips… and pickups are not my thing anyway.
Since you have both, why not try them on again…try them on with veils and shoes, walk around in them, sit in them, get some photos taken from all angles…. and then make your decision. They are definitely different styles, with one being the ballgown flowy style and the other is a more dramatic mermaid look. What kind of theme is your wedding and what kind of venue do you have? Would the new dress fit that better?

PeachSnapple: Thanks, i like the lace in the second one as well The wedding is outdoors at a winery, reception in a tent on the winery grounds. I feel like the second one suits the venue more but that the first one is a bit more flattering to my figure.

I’m actually going to agree with PeachSnapple. I love how the second one shows off your curves! I actually think that one is more flattering. Since you have both, you have the luxury of figuring out which one is the best fit for you and your wedding. You can also try selling the dress you don’t decide to use to salvage some of your loss.
