She doesnt have to “get” your choices and you dont have to justify yourself to her. If you are happy with your BMs I dont think you have to explain yourself to anyone. if she cant just be happy for you then thats a bit odd

I’m sorry it didn’t go down so well, as expected.

But I really applaud you for being “grown up” about it and telling her honestly. I’m sure it was very difficult, but it sounds like you went about it the right way. I think being honest like that makes you a good friend.

Good for you for telling her. I know it’s not easy to break the news to a friend. I had to do the same thing when I picked my bridal party.

Hopefully she won’t be upset too long.

I had this same problem.  One of my best friends growing up thought she was going to be in my wedding. I had a bridal shower a few weeks ago that my bridesmaids hosted and I didn’t even think she would come but she did and it was very awkward.  We got together one night shortly after the wedding and I was so nervous to tell her why I didn’t ask her to be one of my 6 girls.  I started the conversation and then she went off about how much we have changed and how lucky I am to have 6 close friends and was not mad at all. I honestly feel that this made our friendship stronger.  It was a tough conversation but something that was needed.  Kudos to you!

I feel for you. I had to do this too. It sucks, but it’s better to do it than to just include someone you can’t rely on or aren’t that close to.
