The robbers took our wedding rings ( that we just got), amongst several other wedding gifts and electronics. I am shocked to say the least. Oh well, at least material things are replaceable, we had homeowners insurance ( with a scheduled value endorsement… I am hoping it covers our rings…) and that we were not physically harmed.

sassy411: Oh yes we definitely did. Unfortunately here crimes like this will be on the bottom on the priority list. However, with that said, crime scene investigation is supposed to be over today to dust for prints. Who knows if they will find anything, or even if they do if that would lead to an arrest/recovery of items, but it is something. I’m glad they didn’t take “long lead time” wedding items like my dress, his tux, ect. I know this happens to folks every day, and have never thought it couldnt happen to me, but it is so jarring! Just trying to calm down and take care of everything that needs to be taken care of in bits. Thank you for the kind words and support.

Paguilar84: I am so very sorry this happened to you. My home was broken into many years ago, and I know how absolutely violating it feels. I am heartbroken for you that they got your rings. But I am very relieved to hear that you were not physically hurt in any way. Best of luck to you in the criminal investigation. I hope they are able to locate the perps. And I hope your insurance will restore your property 🙂

angyjaxon: luckily they did not take the dress or clothes! They took our rings (most concerned about) in addition to my jewelry and smaller electronics, and also oddly raided the fridge. Thankfully they passed up on many other things.

who steals a wedding dress?! jeez. i live in nyc and i was robbed two years ago. they took all my inheritance jewelry from my mom and grandma along with my laptop and other random crap. i still think about it to this day 🙁 but at least you were SAFE and nothing happened to you. that is what i’m grateful for with my experience. don’t worry. i believe in karma, and whoever robbed you will get their payback 🙂

Paguilar84: I’m sorry that happened to you! We got robbed almost exactly 3 years to the day as well. It’s definitely uneasy and nerve wrecking at first, but you will get over the feeling in a little bit. Also, depending on the value of the items stolen, you may want to consider if it’s actually worth making a claim for and checking with your insurance what the increase rate will be if there is one if you make a claim. Our insurance almost doubled after our claim from about 1000 to 1900. We lost our no claim discount AND they have a surcharge for having a claim, and this will be for 3 years according to them.

We were robbed recently and it was such a crappy feeling. I’m so sorry That happend to you.
the robber went through all of my things, taking token underwear and jewelry and leaving a huge mess. Cops said he was doing this all over. They said they’d dust for prints, but it took them a week to show up and meanwhile we had a broken window. This is what we get for defunding police all over the country I guess:-( but it was very upsetting. We lived in a nice neighborhood, too, next door to a senators family.

Paguilar84: oh my goodness I am glad you are safe and sound. Everything is replaceable ultimately, but it is frightening no matter what. I hope there wasn’t major damage to your home- broken windows or doors anywhere. I am so sorry you have to go through this ordeal.
