so we went to the mall today to get some new jeans for my daughter. we entered to this store that had a beautiful red dress but they didnt had it in my size. my FI brings me a dress he found in the store, started laughing and told him the dress looks like a tablecloth so he beg me for me to tried it... it fit me like a glove and i actually liked it when i had it on.  so here is the question: is this the one??

i like the dress but it doesnt goes with my colors (red, white and black) and the dress is ivory... does it matter?? my fi like how it looks on me. the best part was the price $160... what do you think?? i need feedback

    sorry for the bad photos

I really think I've seen this dress in the hive before. I think it would make a great wedding dress, and it is flattering on you. Usually the difference with white/ivory isn't enough to ruin it, so it would depend on how you are using the colors. I think it would work!

I'm sorry, I'm not loving it. I I think there is just too much going on with the dress--the lace, the frill, the huge bow in the back. I think if you like the style you should maybe just look for some that are similar and compare...List what you like about this dress and what you don't. If you at least have a general idea in mind it makes the dress search a bit less daunting.

I'm with Amaryllis----a fellow bee posted about this dress.  Let me find it. Do you mind telling us what store this is from? I personally love the look, but it's different (so expect not everyone to feel the same way!)  I'll be back, gonna try to find the previous post.

EDIT--I believe this is the one, no?  http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/i-have-my-dress-on-layaway-but-found-another-dress-help-me-choose-w-pics

It's just okay.  It looks similar to I think her name is "Dalpehnilla" or something like that.  For the price, it's a win, but I agree, I think it may be a little too busy

Okay, after looking at it again, I think I do like it.  I think it's just the back that looks a little off to me.

it's great, but not WOW. and plus, i know the quality of DEB attire and it may not be the quality you want your wedding dress to be. I'm not saying you should spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a dress, but i do think you may want something that isn't considered disposable. i think you will be more confident with a dress that will offer you more support in the manufacturing!

    jmho!

@Magenta- I agree.  These pics are not the best, you're headless in a dressing room under flourscent lighting rockin' a bow tied by a kid!  I think with the right accessories and hair--this dress could be awesome!  If you love it--I say go for it!

I love DEB and they usually have really good sales.  If you wait for a few months, that dress will come down to about $50 or less.  I got sooooooooooo many dresses there for $1!!!  Yup...you read it right...for ONE dollar.  The most expensive dress I bought there was about 5 years ago for $35.  I knew I would never wear it, but it made me feel like a princess when I put it on...seriously, like from fairly tale...hahaha...couldn't help myself.  I'm more on the petite side, so whatever is left is usually either really small or really big.  If that dress is not on sale yet, don't buy it.  Their markdowns are on Fridays...so come back every Friday to check it out.

Love the dress, hate the bow in the back.  It's got a really soft, romantic vibe to it.  I'd totally wear something like that, after I cut the bow off.

I don't usually go for dresses like that, but this one's not so bad.  I agree that the bow needs to go.  Like just make the sash go straight across the back and then it will look great.  A seamstress could alter it to do that.

If you really like it then go for it.  It does have a romantic vintage feeling to it.

I like this style dress as a short dress, so I voted maybe.  It isn't a bad dress, but the sash material looks a little flimsy.

Can you maybe also help describe what your wedding is going to be like?  I feel like a dress like that has to be used appropriately for a certain type of reception.

I am not a frills/lace type of gal, so the dress just really isn't my style, but if its your style then go for it.   Also, how long do you have to make a return?  Maybe you buy it, put it in your closet and keep looking around.  If you don't find anything better then keep it and wear it.  If you do find something else, then return it!

I'm not sure.  I think unless you love it to pieces and can't live without it, you should keep looking.  For my taste, there is just too much going on- too many ruffles, too much lace.  It just looks a bit too costumey for my liking.

I like the idea of it, but I agree that the fabric just looks a little flimsy/not great quality. If you have the means to look for a higher quality dress, I would keep looking.

I like the dress but not the bow. I agree with others that the dress would look much better without the bow. And I also agree that the quality doesn't look the best but if you really like it, then definitely get it. You can always return it if you end up finding something you like better.
