@myseabeeshoney: I haven't been to The Vineyards in Simi, but I've been to two different weddings at Calamigos Ranch in the past few years, and they were both beautiful! They have different areas to use, because each wedding had different ceremony and reception spots, as well. The only thing to consider, maybe, would be that both of the weddings I went to were buffet. I don't know if the couples getting married had an option to do a sit down menu or not, so that would be something to consider if you don't want a buffet.
What's the size of your guest list? The last one we went to was probably 150ish, and they used this space. The twinkling lights were to die for :-D

My fiance is currently deployed overseas, and I am left with initiating our wedding plans. I thought this would be a walk in the park, nothing to it. BOY WAS I WRONG! I change my mind every other second, I am a mad googling woman! Looking for reviews on this place and that place, and who offers more in their packages, and oh they have a better ceremony spot, they have coverage for rain, oh look white twinkly lights! I need HELP! Anyone in the So.Cal area, can you give me your personal experience on Calamigos Ranch in Malibu and The Vineyards in Simi? I am worried about not being the only wedding at Calamigos and running into the other party, that would definitley take away from the personal feeling of 'our day' I am looking for. Or they could be way cool and we could get blissfully drunk together and make new friends for life right? Trying to stay positive in this madness!
