when we DJ shopped the DJ told us he had one bride that planned the music down the the second.  there was a small glitch that day and the music was slightly off, the bride had a fit.

not how i want to spend my evening.

our DJ is a professional, he can read a crowd and we want our crowd to have fun.

we will of course give him a Do Not Play list, but beyond that, as long as everyone is having fun, i could care less what song is being played.

I’m pretty obsessive when it comes to details of my day. I like planning everything out, but I won’t have a fit if it’s not “perfect”. I have a huge list of songs, but I don’t have every second planned out. I’m finding lots of love songs, but I also want a bunch of fun songs to dance to. So far my list includes:

When I’m 64 – Beatles
Somewhere only we know – Keene

Turning page – Sleeping at last
From now on – the features
I belong to you –Muse
Neutron Star Collision – Muse
Starlight – Muse

Everlasting Light – The black keys
Girl is on my mind – The black keys

Act nice and gentle – the black keys
The only one- the black keys

Remember when side B – The Black Keys
Six pence none the richer – kiss me
savage garden – truly madly deeply
Beatles –I saw her standing there

Flightless Bird, American mouth – Iron and Wine

Perfect Drug – Nine Inch Nails

We’re in this together – NIN

Ho Hey – Lumineers
Lovers of the light- mumford and sons  (Last song)

Moondance – van Morrison

Chapel of love- the dixie cups

And I love her- The Beatles
Eight days a week – The Beatles

All you need is love – the beatles

I only have eyes for you- the flamingos

Happy Together – The Turtles

Unforgettable – Nat King Cole

This magic moment –The Drifters

Can’t take my eyes off of you – Muse version

What a wonderful world – Louis Armstrong

I can’t help falling in love with you – Elvis
I’m a believer – smashmouth
At Last – Etta James

Single ladies – Beyonce  (bouquet toss)

I want you to want me- Cheap Trick

Ladies and Gentlemen we’re floating in space – spiritualized

Somewhere over the rainbow – Israel Kamakawiwo’ole version
Cake – love you madly

Strangers in the night – Frank Sinatra

My Girl – The Temptations

This is just a messy list right now, but I still have time. What songs do you have so far futuremrswood25 ?

P.S. I don’t know why this spaced these out all funny, I can’t seem to fix it.

We’re not having a DJ, just an emcee. I need to make my own play list. I’m a music snob

@ajillity81:  +1

@futuremrswood25:  OP, I would be careful about selections. My mom was a wedding photographer for 35 years and I was often her assistant. No party was as dead as the ones that had planned music. I think a reception is the last place to try and show off musical taste because usually the goal of a DJ or Band is to get people to dance! As great as a bride and grooms style might be there is a high chance that your guests won’t love dancing to the songs you have chosen. I am in no way saying your dance floor would be dead but just from experience I would be careful on what you are planning. I personally hate country music but if it gets my country lovers on the floor then I am in no way displeased!
