We just celebrated our first anniversary and, for our entire first year, my husband has worked nights. This has made our schedule very difficult to balance and has meant that on the nights that he works – I sleep alone.
We just got the official word that…. starting next week he will be working days!!! He will still be busy and work long hours. But, our schedules will be much more similar and we will get to sleep in the same bed every night!
I guess I’m in shock… I’m not even sure that I have fully processed that this is (finally) happening! We’ve been waiting for so long and now it’s hard to even imagine how nice it will be!
Sorry, I’m so excited I just had to share!

That is fantastic! Having opposite schedules can really take its toll on people! HOORAY!

Yay for getting your snuggle buddy back!!!

Awww that is too cool!! I bet that is such a great feeling. I experienced the same thing when FI and I moved in together. We lived in cities an hour apart from each other and really only got to see each other on the weekends. It sucked, so it was awesome when that changed!!

Aww that is so exciting. I can partly understand your pain – as my husband is a store manager who works sooooooooo much. I’m happy for you.

That is wonderful!! I am happy for you. My situation is not totally the same, but I go to work in the morning and FI goes while I am still at work. By the time he gets off I am already sleep and then I leave him sleeping when I head off again.

Thank you everyone for the kind words! You all are the best!
@Barn_Wedding: Have you considered getting an alarm system? It really helps with those “bumps in the night” because I know if it’s something serious the alarm will sound. I don’t know if having it has helped protect me any but it has def. helped calm my nerves on the nights when my husband works!
@PrncssDva: Thanks! Yay! Your wedding is almost here! Are you super excited for this weekend? Can’t wait for your recaps…
And… Christalynn, you’re right behind her! Sooo exciting!

We did 2 months this year where FH worked nights, and we had Tuesday night together, I saw him for about 20 minutes each day on the weekend, and it was awful. I am so happy for you, and happy belated anniversary!

Yay that’ll be awesome! My husband works evenings, also, and it’s definitely not ideal 🙂

Yay!! It’s always so nice to be together, I know how it feels with my guy always working overtime. =|

Woohoo! I’m excited for you, too, because I know how it is to sleep alone at night. My guy works the overnight shift, but he’s off Friday & Saturday nights, so we cherish those evenings. Enjoy your time with your hubby!
