While shopping with my friend for her dress 3 years ago, I fell head over heels in love with style WG3028 from David’s Bridal. I wasn’t engaged at the time, and laughed and said,”This dress will be discontinued before I get married!”
And sure enough, it is 🙁
I look every day on Tradesy, Once Wed, Preowned Wedding Dresses, Nearly Newlywed, Craigslist, and UsedWeddingDresses .coms. I ordered one on Tradesy, but the seller didn’t respond in the 5 days so my order was cancelled.
I need a size 8 or 10, or I could even have a 12 altered. I don’t want to buy a Chinese knockoff, but I love this dress so so so much. I know I have plenty of time, but I just don’t want to come down to the wire and be disappointed because I have to buy a different dress.
Any my suggestions at all?

DavidsBeachBride: try on loads of dresses and you will find the right one, just don’t give up!

I agree with both posters.
have you tried on a similar style? I was surprised at how dresses I liked did or did not suit my body.

DavidsBeachBride: what about this one by Casablanca instead?
Failing that, Casablanca has a few dresses with pickups that aren’t v-neck, but as their dresses can be customised when you order them, you could get it made as a v-neck. Here are some that are similar:

Thanks for the replies! I tried on several dresses with her at that time (as a fun thing), and I’ve also been married before, and have looked at what seems like thousands of dresses by now! lol
It’s the straps/bodice that I love about this dress, I could take or leave the pick-up part of the bottom. I want this kind of neckline and straps, and love how the fabric sweeps across the bodice. It just felt like the right dress at the time, and I’ve not seen anything that even captures my attention half as much as it did. I loved the way it felt on my body and how it moved with me and how comfortable I felt in it. And it looks completely different than the dress that I had for my first wedding.
I’ve been reading all of the comments on the Jasmine’s threads, so perhaps I could possibly be ok with ordering from there, as it seems like the quality is quite good.

Maybe go to a Brides Against Breast Cancer dress expo. Who knows, maybe you will get lucky and someone will have donated that dress? At worst, it’s one day of your time and a few bucks going to a good cause.
Also, if you have an image of the dream dress, do a reverse google image search. That way, if somebody is selling the dress and didn’t have the code as a tag, it will likely pop up in your results. Good luck.

I might have found one, in exactly my size! I stumbled across a San Antonio Craigslist ad tonight that was posted 3 hours before (I’m in Ohio). I emailed her and offered to pay extra for shipping, and she says she’s going to go to the UPS store tomorrow.
Cross your fingers for me!!!
