I made lists of everything I wanted to eat and promised myself some of it after the wedding! Also looking at pics to remind yourself how far you’ve come! And drink tea instead of eating. Keep carrot sticks to nibble on when you get stressed or go running. You can do it!

@trustingbride:  Focus on your goal. Get the junk OUT of the house. If you have to snack on something, always have foods like baby carrots and low calorie yogurt on hand.

Once you’re married, be careful that your old habits don’t creep back in.. or you will put the weight back on, and more. You’ll then be really miserable.

When you say you’re an emotional eater, you mean you eat even when you’re not hungry? Like you just eat for the sake of it? I love food and tend to eat portions that are too big… but I don’t eat when I’m not hungry (unless I have sweets on occasion). Food does comfort me, though.. like I look forward to meals and stuff.. I just tend to eat a bit too much at times.

I think keeping healthy food in the house is the main thing. And maybe tape a photo of your dress onto your fridge. You’ve come so far!

Do things like go for walks after dinner. Keep moving. When I exercise I also tend to eat a bit better… it goes hand in hand for me. It’s when I get lazy with the exercise that I sit on the couch and am like “ok, I will have an after-dinner snack tonight” or “I will have that glass of wine” etc.

I stress eat a lot too, but you’ve got to keep it in check if you’ve started having fittings!  Fill up on veggies – low calorie, but very filling!!

Some ideas:

Get all the junk and snack food out of the house. If it’s not there, you can’t eat it. The only sweets in the house should be dark chocolate.

Keep a food diary and write down every. single. thing you eat or drink. This can be surprisingly effective as a deterrent as long as you are scrupulously honest.

Every time you feel like eating something, drink a big glass of water and wait twenty minutes.

Eat dinner earlyish (before 7) and then get involved with a task/chore/project that keeps you super busy until bedtime. Don’t veg out in front of the TV.

In general, willpower is generally at its lowest late in the day, so keep away from temptation.
