I do it too! You wouldn’t happen to be a sagittarius, would you? I’ve started saying nothing, so now I’m sure people think I’m just socially awkward rather than rude or condescending.

iarebridezilla:  Hahahahah man I do stuff like that all the time, and I honestly think that 90% of the time, nobody notices but us.

I still think about the time my friend and her blind mother came to visit me at work, and I said “it’s nice to see you again!” and then panicked because I was all, WAIT, SHE CAN’T SEE–OH MY GOD DOES SHE HATE ME NOW? hahahahah.

iarebridezilla:  I did say something similar once…

I worked at a grocery store during college so when it came close to graduation I landed my career job so I put in my notice. I was so excited I accidentally dropped the words “real job” to my manager. Obviously working at a grocery WAS her real job and just my “passing through” job while in college.

I felt pretty bad the second it came out. It’s just how we (other classmates) always referred to our career jobs when searching. Yikes!

Whenever I get that way around the same person all the time, I just keep my mouth shut the next time I’m around her. I let her lead the conversation then I comment on what she says, not adding my own experience/input. Usually that calms me down enough that I don’t feel so uncomfortable the next time and I can be more myself!

i just never speak unless spoken to, and even then i speak only the absolute minimum to answer a question or something.

iarebridezilla:  I totally understand where you are coming from! I called my boss last week to let her know that I would be starting back at the daycare for the summer since school is going to be out soon. I then told her this would  be my last summer coming back because I was starting to look for internships to get a “real job” when I graduate next year. God after I said I was like “shiit… shiit.. shiit..” and tried to ramble on to act like those words didnt come out of my mouth…. Sooooo bad!!

Whenever I fall into situations like that, I just laugh and go, “I’m just gonna shut up now.”

iarebridezilla:  Thankfully my boss and I are BFF’s so he didn’t really seem to care, but he’s in a bad marriage and back and forth about divorce.  Another coworker was in the room and I don’t even remember where the conversation was going but I said, “I’m never getting a divorce.  He’d have to die before that happens.”

It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for HOW I said it. As if people who divorce are the worst kind of human.  I didn’t mean it that way, obviously!  I understand his reasoning, but as an engaged young woman the thought of it doesn’t even fit into my realm of thought, you know?  I truly don’t think less of anyone who is.

iarebridezilla:  She didn’t say anything, just let me fumble over my “um…well…I mean…you know…cause I went to school for…is that the phone?”
