If you get it reset i would just take the diamonds and go with a new jeweler. Unless youre rock climbing daily or something, all that shouldnt be happening!

I know very little about Kay’s but I really hope you didn’t pay anything to repair all of that.  That seems like a very faulty ring to me.

Hopefully you can get a ring that you won’t be so afraid of damaging.  You should never have to worry about something that much… your ring is supposed to bring you joy.

ChellFish22:  Lol, not laughing at you, but with you. I’m paranoid about my diamonds too, and usually wear a plain silver band! Then I remind myself my ring is insured and I love seeing my husband’s eyes light up when I wear my ring.

ChellFish22:  Can we see this new ring set?!  I missed your upgrade/trade in post.

On a side note, I have two sets because I am constantly worrying about my more detailed set.  It is also white gold and when I wear it (and have my hands in all sorts of lotions, cleaning supplies, daily grind) all I can think of is, oh man the rhodium is wearing off or my diamonds are getting so gunked up.  So I wear my rose gold set at home. Which is a plain metal solitaire and metal carved band. Both rings are also insured.

ChellFish22:  Ugh! I feel for you and wish I could give you a big hug of support. If I had had the different issues you’ve had with your rings, I would worry about them all the time, too. I don’t think you’re being paranoid if experience has shown you that you have a reason for it. I really like your new set! It’s very pretty together, and I like how the solitaire and the wedding band compliment each other without being completely matched. I hope you’re able to get your “forever” set at long last! You definitely deserve a set that feels perfect to you and makes you happy whenever you look at it.

I have the same issue, I do have a lifetime protection plan from the jewlers but it doesn’t cover everything and I am terrifed of shattering, cracking or losing my diamond! I know how devestated both FI and I would be if something were to happen and I’m ashamed to say I really worry about this issue far more than I think is healthy! Nothing has happend to mine yet but then I hear horror story’s (like some of the issues OP has had) and I think what if that happens to me
