Generally they will hem your dress based on whatever shoes you choose! Just wear flats to your fitting and they should be able to hem it to that length.

@brokeninnj:  I suggest wedges….much much easier to walk in especially if you aren’t used to heels. There are some really pretty ones that look very bridal out there as well!

Wear flats! I did! No one will know if you’re wearing a full length dress anyway. I’m actually a super girly girl but didn’t miss heels one bit. I was comfortable 🙂

Wedges or flats. I’m going with wedges or a very small heel… I can’t walk in heels either. I’m such a fail.

If you want to wear heels for your wedding, start wearing heels now. Start with the easy ones, 1 inch high and wide. Once you get used to walking in them, steadily go taller and skinnier. Wedges are a good alternative, anyone can walk in those. It’s like anything else – practice makes perfect!

Your dress SHOULD be altered to whatever length you need it to be in order to wear the shoes you want to wear. You don’t need to find heels in order to match the length your dress comes in. Lot’s of brides wear flats. Otherwise, you can try wedges. They’re a lot easier to walk in than pumps.

Wear flats! I’m a few inches taller than you, but I’ll be wearing TOMs on the big day. 🙂

I’m wearing flats (well, flat sandals, I think)! FI and I are almost the exact same height and I don’t want to tower over him all day long. Plus, flats are WAY more comfortable – definitely go for it!

@brokeninnj:  I’ve always thought I was unable to walk in heels until I found a pair with a strap. Granted they are also quite wide on the heel, but they are so comfy to walk in. Maybe it’s worth trying a pair with a strap to see if that helps? I think I’ll be wearing flip flops to our wedding; I love them, it’ll be summer, no one will see them, and they are so very comfy!

I find that wedges are much better if you are not good at walking in heels, I started myself out with using small heels and wearing them all day long and then working my way up to try different styles.

Fun fact:  No one will be able to see your feet.  Flats are perfect for not tripping down the aisle and dancing all night long.

If you really want heels or extra height look for wedges, a thicker heel, or straps like ankle or mary jane style.  Any of those will help add stability.

I’m going to wear kitten heels or small wedges.  They can hem the dress to match whatever heel height you want.
