I think you should make an appointment with an esthetician and have them recommend some products to use.  I was having horrible skin problems and my Mom basically forced me to see her esthetician who checked out my skin and recommended some products.  Now my skin is clear almost all the time

First of all….quit washing your face so much!  Switch to a mild soap…cetaphil is a great one.  The cetaphil lotion is non greasy and very light and shouldn’t make you break out.  What are you using now?  My dermatologist said my skin was sooo dry from washing and washing too much with a harsh soap.

i struggled until i started getting regular facials. they’re professionals…and can give good recommendations on a regimen and products (just ask for products within your price range).

sounds like youre not using the right moisturizer. after all my struggles and buying COUNTLESS products (ranging from $4 cvs brand to $30 sephora crap) i’ve had the best luck with $7.99 neutragena moisterizer. basic and simple.

What kind of moisturizer are you using? Maybe try something light like Cetaphil. That shouldn’t leave you as greasy.

What are you using to wash your face? Some of the stuff for acne will cause very dry skin. Maybe you need a more sensitive cleanser.

I think the curel is more of a body lotion, does it say face lotion on the bottle?  That may be why it’s so greasy.  I would definitely give cetaphil a try…you can get it at any grocery/pharmacy for cheap.   My derm. recommended it and my son’s pediatrician recommended it for him when he was a baby…so it’s definitely a ( light, no- fragrance) moisturizer.

It’s the only lotion I’ve EVER been able to use on my face./…I would ALWAYS break out when using lotion

Is the Curel Extra Dry Skin Lotion specifically for the face? Or just a general body lotion? I wouldn’t recommend using regular lotion on the face. The face is usually much more sensitive and needs a gentler moisturizer.

@stephanie63087: I use St. Ives as well, and people think I’m crazy, but it works!

It isn’t necessarily the most expensive or most strenuous regimine that will work. My skin breaks out less when I don’t mess with it too much.

I’m on the other end of the spectrum (oily skin), but I think that Aveeno Positively Radiant facial moisturizer works really well (my FI has really dry skin and he likes it), but it doesn’t really have the oily feeling that other lotions do because its less watery than most lotions (which is why I like it…I don’t need a lotion that adds to my skin’s flaws). Mary Kay has some really great skin care lines too.

EEk!   I have extra dry skin also and I would steer away from the Clean and Clear! It just made my face more dry and VERY tight after using. I agree with PP who suggest using a much gentler cleanser.
