I could sure use some favor ideas!!! : wedding favor green VotiveWe got these votive holders from Yankee candle, but I don't think I want to put candles in them as a favor.  At first I thought I could plant trees in them to go with our green /naturey /mossy /plant /stick wedding.  Now I'm not so sure if people will want a favor with a plant, and who knows how many people will actually plant a tree in their yard.  Any ideas???

Fill it with candy? Edible IS the best. Maybe you could find some "tree" looking candy of some sort?

You *could* go tree/spice, it would be cute & fit the theme, but if you don't think that your guests will over all enjoy that, then there are lots of other options. Do you suppose you could ask your mom/fmil, bm's, close friends or even work acquaintances what their reaction would be if they got a tree or plant as a wedding favor? That would at least give you a range of reactions. .

For the most part, any favor I have recieved from weddings is usually candy. In a box, in a little tulle bag, etc etc. Do I remember what exactly it is? No, not really, though the 'misty mints' always stand out in memory because I hate them.

Edible favors could be cookies, cherries, homemade jam, mini tarts attached to escort cards could double as favors. The possibility for edible favors is endless.

My aunt used gourd squashes from her father's garden as part of her fall/harvest theme wedding(as centerpiece components), and sent them home as favors (it was a really REALLY small intimate family thing, and we all love to bake, so it worked for us).

try searching for 'favors' here on wb & on google, i am sure oodles of neat/cute/unique things will pop up!

    p.s.

the only favor I remember recieving that wasn't edible was a floating LED rose tea light thing. I had no CLUE what to do with it after the fact.

Those are really adorable.  I love those!!! What about a spice mix???  For pumpkin pie perhaps???  You'd probably have to tie a piece of gold stretch ribbon around it with a favorite recipe for pumpkin pie.  (Hopefully you like pumpkin pie) lol  ;)

I really love the idea of the spice mix rlsulli!!!

If I got that I would be exicted to make whatever it was.

However, I have gotten a tree before. I stil have it at home and haven't planted it yet...oops :(  That was 6 months ago...

Along the edible lines..  we are using leaf shaped maple candies (rustic, tree-themed wedding).  They're inexpensive and pre-wrapped individually!

Your wedding's in October, right? This could work then since the weather will be changing. We gave our guests hot cocoa!

I think October is the wrong time to do plantable favors. I agree with edible. Maybe a spice mix to make hot cider, or hot cocoa mix? Candy corn? Something fall-ish :)

If you absolutely must have them, edibles are best as everything else will get left behind or tossed out. Even then, edibles are not taken. It is perfectly ok to skip favors and no one will miss them at all, and many people will thank you for not spending money on them.
