I'm completely madly in love with two dresses. One is the lovely Pronovias "Ronda," with beautiful lace straps, from the spring 2009 collection. The other is the Mon Cheri "Lauren," from 2007. They both make me feel amazing and I can't think of picking one without feeling sad about giving up the other. Wish I could have two weddings with two budgets! What do you all think?

Details: I'm short and petite and fair-skinned, I'm getting married outdoors in July at a winery in Seattle in the afternoon with an evening reception, and the Mon Cheri would be ivory if I got it (not green.)

I am getting married at a winery too! I am not kidding when I say I have been looking for a dress like the one from Pronovias! I think it is elegant and perfect for a vineyard wedding.  Please get it so I can live vicariously through you!

I love, love, love the Pronovias dress! Wow - that dress screams classics and would meld well with the winery atmosphere!

I'm thinking Pronovias too!  The other one seems like it might bulk you up a bit with all the layers.

Pronovais all the way. I think it would be perfect for your venue and for a summer wedding.

Oh gosh, I can see why you love them both! I'll be the voice of dissent though - I like the Mon Cheri better! But that is just my personal taste. This is a genuine toughy! I love them both!

Thanks so much for the opinions! I'm thinking I am leaning toward the Pronovias as well, which seems to be the prevailing opinion here. Too bad it's nearly twice as expensive as the Mon Cheri. But, as the sales lady pointed out, the Pronovias really does have that "WOW" factor. The double layers of lace just make your jaw drop. Well my mom will see the Pronovias next Saturday morning and we'll see if it makes her cry, that's the real test right? Right...

@charmbracelet Haha you can definitely live vicariously through me, though go ahead and get the Pronovias Ronda yourself if you'd like! Winery weddings are the best, it's going to be so romantic and beautiful.

I like the Pronovias dress, it is really beautiful and romantic.  However, I am also short and petite so I feel like the shape of the second dress and the fact that it is strapless usually works better with someone of that body type.  As long as you tried the Pronovias dress on and you felt like it looked great for your size, then I say definitely go with that one!

@Tulip Yeah, the saleswoman said that normally someone of my size she would want to keep a strapless look to keep from shortening me, but that in the case of the Pronovias Ronda, the straps are sheer and light enough that they're okay, plus the lace extending upward onto the straps apparently makes me look taller.

Since you said you are petite and I think the Pronovias dress might elongate your figure more. They are both beautiful though.

@Mimi29 Wow that is pretty similar! The bust may be a bit full for me though, hmm, I will have to think about it. Thanks!

I'm biased because I chose the Pronovias Ronda for my gown.  If you still need a push, DO IT! It's so gorgeous.  :)  I'm pairing mine with a cathedral veil.  Never would have thought of that on my own, but my bridal consultant recommended it and OH. MY. GAWD.  :)

@drealeah I have to make a big apology to all of you guys, I had to end up ignoring your kind and enthusiastic advice. I ordered the Mon Cheri in December, and I really could not be more thrilled about it. It came down to the way I felt in the two dresses. I found myself having to talk myself into the Pronovias ("This is a really special dress, everyone will love the way this looks, this is an ideal look for your body, it's so wonderful that it's different from the omnipresent strapless look"), whereas the Mon Cheri made me light up from the inside out. It made me feel pretty, it made me feel comfortable, it made me feel like marrying my fiance. I still LOVE the Pronovias and I hope lots of you guys buy it, it's not a super-expensive dress, and you should post photos of yourselves in it from your weddings!

Mon Cheri hands down, especially given the location (I like the Pronovias dress better though)
