Fiance and I never wanted to register for gifts. One, we are having a Destination Wedding and people are paying a lot to attend our wedding. Two, we’ve been living together for 3 years now and don’t have room in our apartment for much else and we definitely don’t have a place to store good china and stuff. And three, NO ONE is going to throw us a shower anyway (at least not a big enough one where a registry would be necessary). So after thinking about it, I decided to just delete them. I took the links off my website and deleted the registries from the stores. If anyone wants to give anything they can give whatever they want.
It feels good to be free of something I didn’t want in the first place.

Good for you! Sounds like it’s just one less thing to worry about.

Rules are all relative and obviously this is one that’s definitely meant to be broken by you! Way to go!

Thanks ladies! I must say I really do feel liberated! It’s as if I did my own little “F you” to the wedding industry. NO, I DO NOT have to register for $5,000 worth of crap. NO, I DO NOT need 4 sets of sheets, duvets, kitchen gadgets, fancy china, fancy drinkware, etc……(though I wouldn’t mind that digital picture frame…lol)! All I NEED is the support of my family and friends and a kick ass party on the beach in Jamaica.
And yes KatyElle, one less thing to worry about.
