Like most of us, I decided to grow my hair out when we got engaged in March.
Well, 6 months have passed, it’s 3 inches longer, and my hair looks awful long. It’s thin and scraggly. It looks like…well, just terrible.
So at my haircut appointment, which was supposed to be just a trim, I decided I didn’t want to go through another year of horrible hair to have one day where it may look a bit better long. So, I chopped it back up to shoulder length and I feel awesome.
I’m sure I can find plenty of shoulder length styles, I was planning on wearing only 1/2 up anyway. If you have any 1/2 up shoulder length ideas, I’d love to see them!

You can always add extensions! My hair is very thin and we are going to add some for volume.

I feel your pain. My hair (prior to having my son) looked HORRIBLE after it went past my shoulders. Now, I love long hair, but it would literally DIE. It had no life, no shineyness, nothing. After my son, it had a life of its own… and not just in bounciness, shine, volume, looking pretty, etc. (After my daughter, it began curling and being wavy… I figure after my next, it’ll either die again or become like Medusa’s hair, lol!)
If you have a really GREAT hair stylist, maybe you could visit him/her and they can show you some books/magazines specifically FOR short/shouler-length hair. They might even be able to tell you what would look just AWESOME for your face-shape and body-shape.
Ask your friends and family who they would recommend. You’ll probably get a lot of different answers, but you’ve got plenty of time between now and your wedding to “shop around”.

Rock on! I should have done that, but I didn’t. I regret it now as I don’t/didn’t love my wedding hairstyle.
