I have done a very, very naughty thing and I am ashamed to say it wasn’t even the first time. Since sending my boyfriend links to the rings that I like, every now and then when the browser is still logged into his e-mail account when I go to mine, I quickly check if he’s ordered any jewellery (in my defense, it’s temptingly easy: I just type in “moissanite” into the search bar and see if any of the results are anything other than the e-mails that I’ve sent him).
I am so relentless that I pretty much do this every other time his e-mail account is still logged in and then am always forced to shrug away the disappointment. I practically do it without even thinking and then go about my business as soon as it’s done. Partly it’s because he is so unpredictable that I sometimes think he will NEVER get the ring (or at least take another 6 months), and it’s partly because I’m a cheeky little squirrel.
Anyway, just tonight whilst going to log into my own account, I did one of my auto searches for moissanite, and BOOM.
First search result: order confirmation from moissaniteco.
I immediately almost vomited all over the keyboard. A true shock. Though not shocking enough to prevent me from then going into the e-mail and checking the date and specifications. It’ll be here any day now.
I feel bad. So, so bad. But also good. So, so good.

oooo – naughty. I’ve done a similar thing, though I never thought to search for keywords. This is so exciting!

does he know you look through his emails?
I’d be cautious. That would be a dealbreaker for me.
I don’t get why girls ruin surprises for themselves… like, what do you get out of ruining the one big opportunity he has to surprise you? He’d probably be crushed if he found you knew. Sorry, I don’t mean to rain on your parade – I just don’t get it.

im the same! but stop snooping now, you dont want to ruin all the surprises 🙂

@mandypop: I agree. I know my fiance would have been really mad at me for something like this. If he goes through all the trouble of trying to surprise you, you should let him! Congrats anyway!

@mandypop: haha, yes, it’s silly of me to ruin the surprise for sure. And I actually said to him several weeks back, “You know you leaving your e-mail open will guarantee that I check if you’ve ordered anything. You better use your work e-mail.” It was tongue-in-cheek, but he knows I’m pretty sneaky. We’re pretty open about things, though, kind of like a “what’s yours is mine” attitude. Not that he’d like me to have ruined the surprise, you’re right about that. That’s exactly why I feel bad.

Don’t track it! Try not to think about it! Sit on your hands until the big day comes!

@Jezika: Obviously you have no idea when or how the proposal will be made, so that surprise isn’t ruined.
As far as the ring, do you know which one he ordered? As long as you know what it is, you may as well share the stock photo with the hive. 😉

@StuporDuck: Agreed! Let us all be bad with you!

@StuporDuck: Aw, you’re too kind. And the eventual proposal will certainly be a surprise as he’s been throwing around a lot of potential dates to do it (we have quite a few trips and events planned over the coming 6 months or so).
Show you a stock photo? Wellll, if you INSIST 🙂
It’s this but without the side stones and the centre stone will be 1.5ct equivalent:

@MrsRuby: My problem is that I am notoriously indecisive and also pretty much love every type of ring out there, so I had to force myself to be firm and conservative.
