I officially became a vegetarian!
I stopped eating red meat for a few years back in high school/college just for the heck of it but resumed eating all meat/animal products once I got “bored” with it.
More recently I’ve been learning about the inhumane treatment of animals in factory farming/slaughterhouses and also the amount of horrible things in meat that affect my health and the enviroment. I kind of stumbled on this information and once I started doing more research I decided that eating meat just isn’t worth it. I stopped eating all meat earlier in the year and I’m hoping to work toward becoming a vegan but I want to do it gradually. Right now I’m not eating cheese (that’s one of the hardest for me) and I’ll take it from there.
I desperately need some new recipes!!Can any vegetarians or vegans recommend sites/books where I can find some good recipes? Feel free to post favorite recipes too!

Good for you! I was a vegetarian for 6 or 7 years as a teenager but began eating chicken and seafood again in moderation. We still cook vegetarian about 85% of our meals, and part of the trick is definitely finding new things to eat to break the routine of salads, lentils and stir fries.
I very strongly recommend The Moosewood Cookbook! And any of her other cookbooks. My mum and I have been cooking out of the original one since I was a baby. Which reminds me that she owes me a copy 😉 I really can’t say enough good things about them – the recipes are clear, use delicious and healthy ingredients, and are crowd pleasers, which can sometimes be difficult with vegetarian cooking.
