Good luck! I've made it before but I'm still waiting!!! lol!! It's very tasty.
yay good luck! you know what's good with baked chicken? Crispy potato wedges! Oh it all sounds so yummy to me! i've been wanting to bake a whole chicken for a long time!
I'm on a skirt steak kick myself. Sooo versitle, good and easy to grill or broil. Plus the supermarket price is right!
@ejs4y8-- I picked up some rosemary garlic potato wedges from the grocers freezer..I was so excited! lol
Also picked up some pinot noir :)))
oh yay! They are sooooo good. I found mine of a blog post EAQ posted about. I wedged 'em, tossed them in butter, and sprinkled rosemary, seasonng salt, pepper, and cayenne on them and baked them for 45 minutes. Yours will be easier but they will be SOOOOO good. Sometimes roasted potatoes get mushy; i have yet to learn how to perfectly roast them without overcooking them to the point they squish all icky like.
I'm kinda craving them now, LOL. Thanks a lot =]
Have a great dinner tonight!!!!
I want to do the engagement chicken but since we are LDR I dont know when Im going to have time to do it.. ugh!
Um, hello, engagement chicken?! I'd like to jump on this trian, pleaseandthankyou! Recipe anyone??
Red potatoes tossed in a little bit of EVOO and and then tossed w/ the French Onion Soup Mix by Lipton is fabulous!!!!!!!!!!
@ ren: Thanks! I'm kind of grasping at straws here, if chicken is what it takes, chicken is what he gets! ;)
Ok you guys this is kind of freaky.. I am going to Pittsburgh next weekend (his best friend from college is getting married so he asked me to come up for the wedding to be his date).. and he asked me what I wantedo dor dinner on riday night!!!! ENGAGEMENT CHICKEN TIME!!! I told him I wanted to cook him a nice dinner at home and hes said "Aww thats perfect honey". I have made a pact with myself I would not dicuss anything about getting engaged the entire weekend so lets hope the chicken mixed with being at a wedding gets his buns moving lol!
LOL.. OMG Ren that is perfect timing! He will def have weddings on the brain already, so I am sure that mixed with the chicken will seal the deal :)
My chicken is cooking away and I'm drooling already!!
Haha, I refuse to make engagement chicken, but mostly because I have issues with meat. I can't deal with meat on bones.
Anyway.
BF tells me today that one of his coworkers says "oh you must be married, bringing in leftovers for lunch...when are the kids coming by?" I didn't understand until BF explained the whole married = having kids -> not going out for lunch to save money.
So hope there's more than the two of you can eat, and he takes it with him for lunch, and someone comments on it, putting more thoughts in his head... :p
Good luck!
@surkim: LOL love it! Its the best when OTHER people comment on why we arent engaged/married..it makes me feel like im less crazy
Well I think while Im there for the weekend we are staying with his best friends who just built a house.. so I think I am cooking for everyone! Hopefully his friends will like it too!
Update!! I believe in the power of the chicken! I made it last night and this afternoon while I was getting ready to go to work, BF told me he doesnt wanna spend alot of money on a new laptop for himself b/c he wants to put alot of it into savings for a big purchase! (followed by cutesy smile)...GO CHICKEN GO!!
hehe :) why thank you Kirabee! I like to keep the masses entertained
Sold! Engagement chicken it is. Will have to whip some up soon. :-)
It's not fair, there is no equivalent of the engagement chicken for us vegetarians :(
My BF isn't veggie though, so maybe I can make him the chicken anyway, despite the fact that I hate handling meat. Maybe it will be twice as effective for me haha
I saw the recipe in a magazine a while ago, but my boyfriend's a vegetarian...I guess I could do it with the soy stuff, but I wonder if it would have the same effect.
