I'm on a skirt steak kick myself.  Sooo versitle, good and easy to grill or broil.  Plus the supermarket price is right!

oh yay! They are sooooo good. I found mine of a blog post EAQ posted about. I wedged 'em, tossed them in butter, and sprinkled rosemary, seasonng salt, pepper, and cayenne on them and baked them for 45 minutes. Yours will be easier but they will be SOOOOO good. Sometimes roasted potatoes get mushy; i have yet to learn how to perfectly roast them without overcooking them to the point they squish all icky like.

I'm kinda craving them now, LOL. Thanks a lot =]

    Have a great dinner tonight!!!!

@ ren: Thanks! I'm kind of grasping at straws here, if chicken is what it takes, chicken is what he gets! ;)

Ok you guys this is kind of freaky.. I am going to Pittsburgh next weekend (his best friend from college is getting married so he asked me to come up for the wedding to be his date).. and he asked me what I wantedo dor dinner on riday night!!!! ENGAGEMENT CHICKEN TIME!!! I told him I wanted to cook him a nice dinner at home and hes said "Aww thats perfect honey". I have made a pact with myself I would not dicuss anything about getting engaged the entire weekend so lets hope the chicken mixed with being at a wedding gets his buns moving lol!

Haha, I refuse to make engagement chicken, but mostly because I have issues with meat.  I can't deal with meat on bones.

    Anyway.

BF tells me today that one of his coworkers says "oh you must be married, bringing in leftovers for lunch...when are the kids coming by?"  I didn't understand until BF explained the whole married = having kids -> not going out for lunch to save money.

So hope there's more than the two of you can eat, and he takes it with him for lunch, and someone comments on it, putting more thoughts in his head... :p

    Good luck!

I made it last night and this afternoon while I was getting ready to go to work, BF told me he doesnt wanna spend alot of money on a new laptop for himself b/c he wants to put alot of it into savings for a big purchase! (followed by cutesy smile)...GO CHICKEN GO!!

It's not fair, there is no equivalent of the engagement chicken for us vegetarians :(

My BF isn't veggie though, so maybe I can make him the chicken anyway, despite the fact that I hate handling meat. Maybe it will be twice as effective for me haha

I saw the recipe in a magazine a while ago, but my boyfriend's a vegetarian...I guess I could do it with the soy stuff, but I wonder if it would have the same effect.
