I’m in the same stage as you are and I TOTALLY FEEL YOU ON THIS. I know he has the ring and the proposal is coming and now my brain is on overdrive like omgcanitjusthappenrightnow. I think I need to keep myself busy a little longer than you as i’m expecting it on New Years, but it’s so hard to keep my mind off of it until then.

Just a few more weeks!

@Ravenne:  Wine. Lots of wine.

Just kidding 🙂 Spending time on here with ladies who are in the same boat has been really helpful for me! I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have people to commiserate with.

@Ravenne:  You’ve come to the right place. So many of us waiting bees are in similar situations, and this is a safe place for you to vent/express anxiety lol.

I’m not expecting a Christmas proposal, but yay for you! That’s so soon from now!

My advice to you is to try to stay calm and composed in front of your SO, but feel free to let it all out here. The boards have helped me stay calm for months now! Also, you can journal your heart out. Whenever I am having a good or bad waiting day, I write it all down. It’s the only way I stay sane sometimes 😛

My ring is supposed to be finished on the 20th and I have lost my mind.

– What if the jewelers miscalculated the date. What if the jeweler gets it wrong and has to start over. What if the 103 year old Jewelry business magically goes out of business.

– What if he changes his mind (well, a ring on your finger doesn’t fix that)?

– What if something bad happens like I lose my job or his son decides overnight and for no reason that he hates me and my kids and will insist on living with his mother if SO marries me?

– What if he decides December doesn’t feel “right” despite conversations to the otherwise?

All of these anxieties are stupid and have no merit (well, except jewelers are known to have an issue or two)  and I don’t spend 24 hours a day worrying but about an hour a day they pop up and rear their ugly heads. Wine helps me too! I’m just trying to do internal damage control and not let him see all the crazy. He knows I’m nuts but this particular brand of nuts isn’t a side I want to show myself, much less him. Just pick it up from the jewelers on the 20th, bring it straight to me and give it to me then!!! Aaauuugggghhh!

I LOL’d… not laughing at you, just glad that someone else has completely absurd and ridiculous thoughts that go through their head when thinking about their upcoming engagement. If my poor SO knew the freak show of thoughts that crossed my mind every day, he might think twice about putting a ring on it!

Well the good news is that Christmas is SO SOON. Only two weeks away! Just 14 more sleeps! You can do it! Have you finished your Christmas shopping? That might keep you distracted. Or looking for dresses! Wink
