You’re right — the weather IS out of your control, so try not to stress too much. And you’re also right that it’s Illinois — people know how to dress appropriately for 45-50 degree weather! This is coming from a fellow Midwesterner (Ohio). I wouldn’t be put off by the weather. I’d just bundle up! Plus, a bonfire and hot apple cider in crisp, cool, fall weather? Mmm, that doesn’t sound so bad at all!

HAVE FUN and don’t worry about the weather! 🙂

I live in the Midwest as well and this is my fav time of year. Have a bonfire and hot apple cider and everyone will know to bundle up. I’m actually going to have a fire tonight when the predicted wind chill is in the 30’s and all of our friends are super excited to come over and hang out!

People from the midwest know how to deal with being in the midwest.  I wouldn’t worry about it.

Indiana here – really close to the Illinois border.. 2 days ago it was 48 degrees here and was REALLY cold because of the wind. Is is supposed to be windy tomorrow? If it’s not.. it shouldn’t be too bad.

Otherwise, I would consider purchasing a few popup tends or something so guests can at least go in a walled tent and attempt to warm up!
