Hmmm, that seems to have an awful lot of boob room! Would you consider making it a halter neck? That could work. Do you know a good dressmaker, one with experience like this?
ETA Sorry that sounded like I was remarking on your boobs, I just meant the dress does seem to have a lot of fabric in that general area!
I am confused - - Did you have the dress custom made, copied from the original pictures on the right? If you had the dress custom made it does appear that she made the top too big too high and too bulky. I think it will look beautiful strapless w/ a sweetheart neckline. Are you comfortable with a strapless dress?
You should go to a good seamstress and ask THEIR advice. Most of us have opinions, but I think you want to know what a professional can do.
You may just need to shorten the straps.
One of my good friends is getting married in oct and she told me to take it to the lady doing her alterations because she designs dresses. I know i dont want a halter ( i dont like how they look on me) i have pretty big boobs for my size (5'1 120 34 d) I even gave smaller measurements to her because i was worried the top would come out bigger then it should be. When i tried on the dress it fit more like this
I tried talking to my mom about it and i just get mad because she says she likes how it came out better. I HATE it its not what i want or what it should have been.
Jackie-o- I did have it custom made. I wanted the top of the pictures to the Left and the body of a different dress.
Coffeekitty- THANKS! the dress itself did come out AMAZING but just not what i wanted :(
I agree with @coffeekitty - - the dress looks like it fits you great throughout the body, its just the top that appears too big and too high cut. And take it to a professional and tell them what you're wishing it could look like. Once you talk it out with a professional I am sure you won't have any more worries
OH - - keep us updated
Just made an apt with a local dressmaker for friday! I hope it turns out ok. They are going to love me (or make lots of money off me) I need 2 wedding dresses & a BM dress altered!
Yeah, I think you need to do something and made the right choice by making an appointment with a local dressmaker. The top does look too big, and you have big boobs, so it must be really big! I think with the right dressmaker, she could alter it to strapless for you, or make the top more like the inspiration picture. Maybe if it actually fit in the chest you would like it with the straps! Good luck, let us know how it goes!!!
I'm feeling so very sorry for you. I can imagine you flipped out...However, do NOT worry. I'm absolutely sure that the dressmaker can fix this for you, these kinds of alterations shouldn't be a problem at all...The V-neck looks GREAT on you. Excellent choice. I'm sure everything will work out just fine. You'll be a WONDERFUL bride........!!!!!! GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY....
I think with some alterations, your dress will look more like what you are envisioning from your inspiration. Things always look 100 x better when they fit correctly. I would maybe see if your tailor can take the top down just a hair so that there is more strap and less fabric at the top where the top of the dress meets the strap... other than that, just be cautious of going too low- don't want to be too "boobalicious" on the wedding day (maybe your mom is worried about that?).

My dress came sat and when I tried it on i thought i HATED it! But when FI got home I made him lace me up better (kinda hard to lace urself in a corset back) I decided I LOVE the body! The issue is really the top. And I think my best bet is just going to have it turned into a strapless sweetheart.
I did contact the etsy seller. I feel bad because the dress is BEAUTIFUL but not the top I wanted. She is on vaca and her assistant emailed me back and said that every dress will need alterations. But this isnt a minor alteration this is like not even close to the right shape.
What should i do with the top? Here are a few pix of the dress & the original top (Dont mind my dad in the corner :D)
