    Hi,

I bought my dress last week and I'm already thinking i'm not sure if I like it. I wanted something princessy and I guess I was always drawn to tulle. You might remember I posted loads of dresses as I went to try them on and had a really difficult time deciding. Last week I bought a dress and paid half of it!! I thought it was perfect, I was going to add more crystals to the panel on the centre and a flower on the hip. Then I started to think it wasn't really a classy dress only a few days after. Today I walked passed a dress shop and went in because I saw a gorgeous dress and the women said it just came in!!! I even went to this shop a few weeks ago to try on dresses - why didnt they have it then!!!!

What do you think bees? Please give me totally honest opinions. The first two pics are my dress and the third is the dress I saw today. Is it a better more classy look than what I have now??

    Thanks :-)

I think your dress is gorgeous but it's hard to say b/c they are both different shapes/styles.  It depends on what look you want and what you prefer.  Can you afford the other dress, in the event you really decide you want it?

I really like your first dress. I don't love the second one, to be honest. I'm just not a fan of how it gets at the bottom.

If you want a princessy dress, then the first one is the way to go.  Stop looking, stop second guessing yourself.  You bought the dress for a reason and try to focus on the things about the dress that made you buy it in the first place.  It looks great on you!

I love your dress!! I think I like it better than the other one. I had doubts about my dress, and I had to go back to the store to try on the sample. I went alone so I wouldn't be influenced by anyone. I wound up loving it as much as I remember, and knew I made the right choice. Maybe you can go back and try it on for reassurance? Good luck!

I prefer your dress, as I'm not a big fan of the back of the second dress. Do yourself a favor and stop looking at dresses! You bought the one you did for a reason. Focus on that, rather than all of the dresses you didn't purchase.

I love the second one. If you already bought the dress you hate just resell it and try to get most of your money back that way. Good Luck!

I agree with PPs that you need to stop looking.

I kept looking and ended up buying another dress that I resold and lost money on, only to keep the original one.

You will always find other dresses you love, so once you find one, you've gotta stop or you're going to torture yourself AND your wallet! :)

I have always loved the first gown and you look just gorgeous in it!  The other gown is beautiful as well, but has a totally different look and feel.  I think it looks like more of a Spring/Summer DW gown, than a gown for a November wedding.   I say trust your instinct and avoid bridal shops in the future.  Wink

You said you wanted a princess dress and the one you bought is certainly that. The second one might be considered more classy but you really can't compare the two because they belong at different weddings.

I thought I would post these other two pics. The first is when I tried my dress on in the correct size - the first lot of pics it was a size too big and the second pic is me in a style similar to the new one i have found :-(

I think you're wanting us to say: get the new one!

If you want the new one, do what you need to to get it. But, like I said, I prefer the first. Princess or not.

I'm on board with all bees - the first dress is perfect for you. But, that being said, if you aren't happy in it, then maybe this is a sign!

Yours is definitely classy and the back of the second one makes it less classy (IMO).  I love a low back, but I always think cut outs make a dress look less classy.

@wedding_2011: I think you're buying into the whole "princess isn't classy." I don't get that. Unless someone ACTUALLY thinks they're a princess, why should the style itself not be classy? Is that where you think your doubt is coming from? Because, honey, you look GREAT in your dress.

I dont' understand why you wouldn't describe the "princess" gown as classy?  I think the gorgeous satin and amazing beading on the bodice is for sure!!  Hmmmm....

P.S. Do you think you'd like the first gown had a deeper sweetheart neckline?  You might want to check with your seamstress to see if that's a possibility.

You keep saying you don't think your original dress is classy but I think it's classic...It's timeless and is definitely a princess-y dress...While I like them both, I think if you already paid half of the first one, it's not worth losing that for the second one, which isn't that different from your first one!

I love your first dress!  It's gorgeous and personally I see it as a very nice and classy dress.  The 2nd dress, I'm just not a fan of.  On the model it makes me think immediately of Jessica Rabbit for some reason... and on you it just doesn't give you as nice of a figure as your first IMO.  :)

That said, it's really up to you to decide what dress YOU love best and if that's the 2nd dress, then you need to see if there is a way to make it happen.

I like your first dress compared to the second dress way more but I like the one you tried on in similar style more than your first dress.  That one I think suits you the best.

i think almost every bride goes through this at one point.

stop second guessing yourself. you have to remember you picked that dress for a reason! you will be beautiful on your wedding day!

you must move on and believe you made the right decision. your dress is beautiful.

Really not a fan of the second one. I think the first one looks incredible on you, and the bodice fabric is super classy! Once it's altered to fit like the one you originally tried on, I'm sure you'll fall back in love with it.

ETA: And stop looking at other dresses! :) You'll drive yourself insane.

I'm a fan of princessy dresses too, and I love the first one on you. I know that I looked at other shapes, and I wouldn't have been as happy in them. I think you're going to find that you're the same way. The other dress looks great now, but if you buy it, you're going to miss the poof you've dreamed about :).

simpleandchic I agree. Go with what you really want. Although your original is very beautiful and you look stunning in it!! I'm a fan of your second choice personally because you have the pefect body type for fit and flare gowns. Just breathtaking!!

Both dresses have very different looks.  I really like both, but it depends on the theme of your wedding.  If you wanted princess first, that's probably what you've dreamed about of a long time and you've made the right choice!

I love love love the third dress though.  Like, I'm drooling looking at it.  Who is the designer and what is the style number of the third dress?  It's absolutely stunning!

I'll just say it: The dress you're thinking about makes the MODEL'S hips look huge. So unless your hips are smaller than the model's, it won't look classier. It will look sexy (which to me, makes it less classy in most cases) at best, and unflattering at worst. This was MEANT to be a sexy dress

The dress you have bought is beautiful, and is very flattering to your body. Unless you're planning on wearing black lace bra straps and furry cheetah stripper platforms with it, I think it will look plenty classy enough. Remember, accessories, hairstyle and makeup go a long way to contributing to how classy ANY outfit winds up looking, so if you've only seen it without your hair done, it's probably worth it to give it another chance.

I really like the dress you have.  I know after I picked my dress, I started having some reservations about it but I tried on the dress again and I fell back in love with it.

Oh, I think it is very princessy!

I like your first dress.  It's very classy, and you look gorgeous in it.  Plus, your waist looks teeny-tiny in your first dress... The second one doesn't accentuate how small your waist is.
