Ugh, that's frustrating! Sorry you have to deal with that!! =P
Ugh. Not fun! I'm sorry! I've had quite the process with mine. In fact, we're going on 5 months and it still hasn't happened! Hopefully once you get the certificate and it will all be smooth sailing from there.
Ugh, I am so sorry for that hassle! I hope things get resolved soon!
Well, technically, a wrong date on the marriage certificate shouldn't stop you from changing your name. At the SSA and DMV they just look at the certificate as proof of marriage. I don't think they take down the date of your marriage into their records. But maybe it would be better just to wait, for peace of mind, rather than adding further to the house of cards. I hope it gets sorted out for you soon!

I'm pretty sure that the Powers-That-Be are conspiring against me and really, really don't want me to change my last name. I posted about it here. So yesterday when we ACTUALLY received our marriage certificate in the mail.... They put that we were married on 01/31/2009. A full 11 months BEFORE we actually got married. That's even a full 11 months before we even got our marriage license! So, I called the county, and they said they typed it correctly from what our priest turned in. So I called our priest and spoke to his secretary, she said they would get it fixed, but come on! How hard is this! It's definitely a comedy of errors.
All I want to do is to start the process of changing my name. How hard is that?
