HAHAHA oh my gosh lol. He does have a point though... :D
I spent a few nights here on safari in Tanzania a couple of years ago: http://www.gibbsfarm.net/
Definitely not a place that you would have any of the problems he's worried about.
@NotFridaythe13th: Thanks! There are absolutely beautiful places, he's just a crazy nutter butter, lol.
I have Hamster's honeymoon in Africa bookmarked. I suggest showing that to him! Those pictures are breathtaking and should change anyone's mind.
I'm with you; I would love to do that, but we can't afford it.
@Aubergold: Aren't they all? Hehe.
if I could afford to go back for the honeymoon I totally would, it's so much fun. I recommend doing the safari thing and then heading to the beach at the end to relax. The waters in Tanzania/Kenya are much warmer than the waters (at least Cape Town and Durban, the places I've been) in South Africa.
@NotFridaythe13th: That sounds great. After reading Hilsy's post about her time on the beaches in Mozambique, I really want to look seriously into this. People (including me who's parents are West African) overlook Africa as a honeymoon spot, generally.
Hah yea my FI refuses to do this with me. So, my BFF (and MOH) have decided that we will go on an African safari together when we turn 30!
That looks gorgeous, but i have to admit, my idea of a honeymoon (or any vacation for that matter), does not involve a shoddy port a potty =]
@Amaryllis: Oh yes, she has some amazing photos! I think it would be a great experience, if you don't mind roughing it a little!
@Aubergold: What?! Africa was, hands down, the most incredible place I have been in my entire life. And i've been to almost 30 countries across 6 continents. There are some amazing places to stay, but I have to say that I looooved camping. We had our own 4x4 truck that came with all the gear - including a fridge, table with chairs, lots of luxury stuff. The campgrounds in Namibia where we were beat the US campsites i've been to ten fold. They were really nice. And the scenery...pictures just don't do it justice! He'd be a fool to pass up that opportunity.

This what my dear future hubby said to me after I suggested we look into going on an African safari for our honeymoon.
Oh and another one was:
'who wants to get diarrhea on their honeymoon"
This man........
We are not going to be camping out in the jungle on our honeymoon. Last time I heard Kenya and South Africa have nice hotels.
He worries me at times, lol.
Add this to the list of crazy things he has said and I've posted on the Bee. He really is a great guy, HA.
