Someone just microwaved popcorn here. At least they didn't burn it like someone at my old job did everyday at 2. Ick! outlaw microwave popcorn at the office!
LMAO - totally agree. Micro popcorn should be banned from office buildings. Don't get me started when they burn it...
UPDATE: Same girl made (and burned) popcorn again just now. She leaves at 5:00. It is 4:45. She lives 15 minutes away. You can't wait a half an hour to go smell up your own damn space? Is it really THAT essential that you make popcorn 15 minutes before you leave the office?
GAH. If tomorrow wasn't my last day in this hellhole I would say something but it's not even worth it.
The smell is so nasty. People are always burning it in the shared dining area of our building. Uggggh!
Haha-- I was that girl once. We were sent freebies of the 100 cal packs by one of our sponsors. As soon as I put it in I regretted it, and of course, i burnt it too. I've never made it again, I swear! lol BUT, I didn't feel too bad bc there are some people that microwave fish and other really stinky meals for lunch, and I have to smell that several times a week.

It stinks and I totally agree with you, I hate it when people at work pop a stupid bag full in the mircowave, I almost vomit everytime I smell it!!!!!!
I couldn't agree more. The smell of popcorn makes me sick. It smells like dirty socks/feet to me. My FI is a movie goer and I am not because I can't stand the smell of popcorn.
OMG, this was hilarious. I for one LOVE popcorn, but I cannot stand it in an office. If you don't know how to make it without burning it, DO. NOT. MAKE. IT.

@Violet Violet: people microwave FISH in your office?!? OK, I didn't think anything could be worse than popcorn smell but that definitely is.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hates it. I don't know why it's just one of those things that really gets to me. Yes, it's popcorn, but it's such a strong smell that I feel like you have to know it's inconsiderate to make it in a small office space, right? I guess not.
@Violet_Violet - I feel your pain! I couldn't figure out why it smelled like cat food (I HATE the smell of cat food!) in our office today until I saw my coworker eating this nasty looking thing. I can only guess that it was fish.
Really, people? There are so many food items with less scent!
I LOVE popcorn and make it in our office. But we have a seperate kictchen area (from the cubicles) so I make it in the microwave in there. Lots of people eat microwave popcorn at my office, so you wouldn't like it here! LOL
Ahhh...I am so guilty!
I was a manager in a department store, and I went into the office to make popcorn. While it was in the microwave, I got called to speak to a customer. When I got back, it was horribly burned!
Not only did the office smell, but the entire men's department stunk for a solid week! Yea...I was not very well liked that week.
I would kill for a popcorn smelling kitchen right now... someone in our office microwaved fish yesterday for lunch and it reeked all day.
It STILL reeks today. I heated up some veggie sausage in the microwave for breakfast and it tasted gross. My cereal even tasted a little off. I tried to hint to her that it might be a problem... I feel a little jerky saying "fish that requires microwaving is not an appropriate office lunch" but kind suggestions were not really working and now I am sick to my stomach from my fishy breakfast.

...and everyone who makes it in a small office space. seriously, it's gross. the smell does NOT go away ALL damn day, and here i sit, wanting to throw up and having to just suck it up because the chick next to me just NEEDED to make an entire ginormous bowl of popcorn a half hour after she just ate lunch. and then cut to an hour from now when she takes a personal call to her friend and bitches about how she's getting fat.
if it's not ok for me to throw up on your desk, it shouldn't be ok for you to make popcorn near me. also, if you are going to make it, maybe learn how to do so without burning it.
