I was there just a few weeks ago! Woke up with a nightmare about a total failure of a wedding because it was lacking everything we haven't booked yet. Including the officiant. You just need one good push of wedding planning and you will feel so much better!
Even though we are close I was still able to get a good florist, DJ etc. so don't panic just figure out what the "next step" is for all your vendors/planning whatever and take that step.
Also the other thing that made me feel better was letting other people do some of the work. The florist was able to do almost all of the rentals that I thought I was going to have to coordinate so that was a relief!
@smile_liley: Hey Date twin! I agree with the PP. Start making a list. Get a hold of the caterer and if they are still available book them! I think you have enough time to not get stuck with a sub-par caterer, especially if you are near a large city. Do you have any inspiration for decor and centerpieces? When you know what you want to do it really is only a matter of putting it together. You will be fine, just start prioritizing.

Hello bees! It's my first post here!
Anyways, I'm getting married on August 25, 2012 & l thought all of the planning was going okay until I woke up this morning with a nightmare & wasn't able to go back to sleep! I feel so far behind, it's crazy!! We did a lot of initial planning when we first set the date (a little over year in advance) & we were so far ahead that we kind of sat back for awhile & it just now donned on me that it's just over 6 months away I suddenly feel so behind & panicked!
We have the main things booked, being our venue, photographer, and videographer. We have nothing else set in stone! Our venue doesn't include anything so we have to go to outside sources for all of our catering, rentals, etc.
We know what caterer we want to use & have a menu & quote set, but we haven't officially booked her yet & now I'm afraid that she's booked or something. I left her a voice message this morning about putting in our deposit to book the date, and the agony of waiting for her to call back is torture!
Aside from getting our caterer & rentals booked, I feel okay with everything else. We aren't hiring a DJ, we are doing most of the decor ourselves and even though we don't know exactly what we for centerpieces & all the decor yet, I know it will all shape together just fine.
I hope I'm not alone in feeling totally behind! I can't believe it's all of a sudden only 6 months away & I'm so scared of not having a good caterer or rentals! Blah!
