After txting my sis to find out if she was coming into town tonight or tomorrow morning I found out she got FIRED today and doesn’t know if/when she’ll be making it!
She’s worked for her company for like 7/8 years and was even promoted to positions that noone her age had ever been given! And, to make things even worse she just treated herself to some shopping this past week b/c it’d been awhile… NOW she’s jobless.
UGH… I know that the pregnancy hormones don’t help but I just cried for her and just feel terrible!
Just thought I’d share with you awesome ladies & ask that you keep her in your thoughts & prayers.. especially with the holiday season here and all. =/

@runsyellowlites:Oh, God. I’m so sorry. My husband actually go fired today too and he sounds a lot like your sister (work-ethic wise). I’m so sorry:( What kind of person fires someone right before a holiday?! I would encourage her to spend time with the family…my dh and I decided to drive down last minute, otherwise we would be moping:(
Edit: I can relate, I’m pregnant and have been sobbing all day!

@amnystik: & @JewishBride: So sorry that this is happening to people so important to you! And I agree, who fires someone right before the holidays?!
Take the time to be a family and remind each other that love is more important than anything in the world. Focus on what you have when you look into each others eyes, and everything else can come up after that turkey! 😉 Definitely keeping you in my thoughts! And congrats on the pregnancies!

In response to the question “Who fires someone right before the holidays?”
The answer is- many employers. The theory is that the initail reaction will have settled down for the remaining employees before they have to return to work on Monday.

I’m so sorry to hear that. The father of one of my close friends recently lost his job working for the government, and I was devastated for her family. It is so unfortunate when dedicated hard-working people (especially those with families) are fired. And it seems in this economy, they’re firing those in the company who are making a decent salary but are considered “non-essential” staff – no matter how much seniority those individuals have built up. Such an awful situation.
