I have been searching for months and months for a new ring for my 10 year wedding anniversary and was so confused as to WHY I could not find the right ring for me. Then I found this baby and fell in love and I bought it today.
It is a 1940’s .70 carat set in an illusion setting so it actually looks like 2 carats. It is so romantic and beautiful and will go so well with my original wedding bands. Just wanted to share as I am so happy about my purchase. I love that the ring has such a long history and I will always wonder where it has been and who’s love did it represent in the past.
These are not my pics what the seller sent me and I wanted to share 🙂

I guess it is true – once you see it you know its the one – much like the dress purchase! At first I never even thought of buying vintage but I was so exhausted by my neverending search (like 3-4 months every day!) that I opened my mind to it and love the idea and look of the vintage designes and once I saw this one I knew it was the right one.
Illusion settings are pretty amazing. If anyone has pics of illusion rings please feel free to share.
I found my ring on RubyLane.

Ahhh!! That’s so pretty. The setting is really unique, I love the detailing on the side of the main stone.

Ummm… This might be a silly question, what is an illusion ring?

GORGEOUS ring! Love it!
My grandmother’s engagement ring was an illusion setting. I love it so much. When picking my ring, I knew I wanted the round-stone-in-a-square-setting aspect. I (ofcourse) went vintage too! Here they are side by side 🙂

Beautiful! I LOVE antique rings! Mine is an illusion setting (I think). It’s an OEC diamond in a square setting. Perfect since I couldn’t decide on diamond shape 🙂
