So, some time has passed and therefore I thought I would share a honeymoon story with you.
We went to a great resort, Couples San Souci in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Just lovely. The resort is built into a cliffside and you also feel like you're in a rain forest with lush, dense vegetation around you.
Anyway, our room was on the ground floor with a gorgeous view. Each day we would wake up around 7ish and hit breakfast early. So I get out of bed (wednesday) and go to the bathroom. I flush and walk over to wash my hands when all of a sudden I felt something move under my right breast. I immediately freak out. I jump up and down, move my breasts and scream. What falls out from under my little nightie?
A cockroach.
Yes, bees...a cockroach. The Hubs comes running into the bathroom, I tell him what happened and he goes on a killing spree (that little bugger was a fast one). So I continue to freak out on the bed thinking and wondering...if that roach was nestled under my breast while I was in bed...where else could it have wondered? OH MY GOD. I immediately showered then we immediately went to the front desk.
Now, I can understand that we're on the ground flooor and of course there could be bugs but wow...not under my boob...in bed...ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Needless to say, they were mortified and we got moved to the 2nd floor of a different building with a killer view.
OH MY GOSHHHHHH. No. NOO. Tell me you're kidding. ew.
Nasty!! Good thing you got a better view..thats a plus side :)
@KaitlinHudson: Oh no...I wish I were kidding! It was mortifying. I laugh now and it makes for great story telling (Thanksgiving).
OMG! My heart would've stopped right then and there because there is nothing in the world that scares me more than cockroaches, lol. I can handle snakes, spiders, rats, etc. but roaches???? You are so brave, and thank God you found it before it could venture into unknown territories. Eeeeeekkkkkk!!!!!!
I would have DIED!!! Bugs and I, don't get along at all. I would have been on the next plane home hahahahaa (probably not ;-)
Ha, I thought this was some goofy romantic story about 'making your heart flutter.'
AAAHK! So not! Good for you for being cool in the situation and also scoring an upgrade. Ew ew ew!
OMG I would freak.
When my husband was little he had a serious ear ache, he was dizzy, and felt like he was going to faint. His dad took him to the ER and the doctor pulled out a live cockroach from his ear. I'm sorry I told you all this story. It disturbs me to this day.
@NDBee: too funny...but not so romantic!
@mwitter80: Oh no! You gagged? Sorry 'bout that!
@flamingred: Okay...well that would've freaked my freak too!
@flamingred: Apparently cockroches can't crawl backwards and if one goes inside your ear, it can't turn around!
You just made me check under my boob...
so gross, glad you got an upgrade!
OH MY GOSH. I literally gasped when I read this.
At least you got upgraded?
Hahahahaha!! What a crazy funny story!! And I love the way you told it! Although horrific at the time, it's something you'll be able to tell for the rest of your lives. Glad you had a good time though!!
I would have screamed bloody murder and taken seven showers and washed ALL my clothes and...EW EW EW EW EW EW EW EW EW EW EW!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!
There are a lot of cockroaches in the part of Texas I grew up in, and I woke up to one crawling across my face, and another in my mouth once. OMG NO THANK YOU GROSS!!!!! Scarred for life.
OMG I would have freaked out.
I think it is awesome that you can laugh about this!
I may have to rethink about my honeymoon now! I am SO freaked out! lol Good for you for staying though and not letting it ruin your trip!
Oh my grossness. I though this was gonna say like "oh my heart when I say my hubby". Not a COCKROACH! EEWW!!!!
@flamingred: i'll never forgive you for this T_T
cockroaches are like.. the ONLY thing I freak out about. I was renovating my kitchen and pulled off some drywall and what do you think crawled out? about 15 of them and they were falling all over me while I swung my hammer manically at them. ::shudders::
Oh.my.goodness. That is so icky! I'm glad they moved your room though!
@flamingred: My Dad works in an ER and has said that this is more common than one would think! Soooo gross!
wow seriously grossed out by both stories, but i'm glad we can laugh/gag together about it
OMG. I am mortally afraid of those things...I cannot even write it. I would have DIED. gross gross gross...I seriously might have cut my vacay short because of that...that would have been too traumatic for me! I mean...on the floor....in the bathroom i would have raised hell and been fine with another room...but UNDER MY BOOB???!??! hell to the no. Im so sorry this happened to you and am SO glad you are a more rational person than I am!
@stephinPA: Oh my god this freaks me out so bad!I posted a few weeks ago when I found a cockroach in our apartment when I was alone and I had to call my husband crying just so he can talk me through killing it. They're so creepy! I think I would die if this happened to me . At the very least I probably wouldn't be able to touch my boob for a while (husband would have no such problem, he's not picky when it comes to boobs...).
@flamingred: Lalala....I did not just hear this...*covers ears...so as not to hear, and so nothing crawls in*
Omg, wow! Gross. And good to know that cockroaches like to crawl in ears. Looks like we'll all be sleeping with ear plugs from now on!
Eww.
But thanks for telling us a good story that we can all use when we need a free upgrade. ;)
I try to be calm about bugs as long as they keep their distance, but I cannot bear them crawling on my skin, that just makes me scream like a crazy person!
I could not imagine what you felt under your bob.....lol....and yes groosed to know it was a roach!!! Guess I can cross that off of possible honeymoon locals.
Ugg-so gross! I was a Resident Assistant in college so we always had to come back a few weeks before the rest of the students and the dorms always had a bunch of cockroaches since they'd been sitting empty all summer. Still makes me shutter.
We have camel crickets in our house (do NOT google them unless you're brave). I think they're WAY scarier than cockroaches.
