Thanks to a post from another Bee, I completely revamped my centerpieces which were completely stressing me out and this is what I came up with for my black, white and red wedding.

That's very cool! How did you get the top and bottom to glow?

Awesome! Will the lamp shade on top be lit up by something?

There is a 4" floral led light disc in the shade which lights it up and reflects off the Dazzlers in the bottom of the vase.  It's hard to see in the pictures but the lamshape will be lit.

@tritaratops:  I got the lights at a local floral supply wholesaler, but you can fine them online as well.  The lampshades were plain white Martha Stewart shades which I got for a steal at Ross.  I embellished them with black ribbons.

@mcnetn3: No, the vases won't be filled with water.  The flowers are preserved orchids and will not hold up to water.

I am assuming that you got the preserved red orchids at save-on-crafts.com; are the flowers really red or more of a hot pink fuscia?  I am doing purple and fuscia for my wedding and the folks at the website said the red flower is more of a hot pink.  Can you give me some guidance before I go out and order these flowers...THANK YOU!  and the centerpiece looks great!

@garichild:  Yes, I got the preserved orchids from Save on Crafts.  They definitely look more pink when used alone.  Since my accent color is red, I took a red petal from a silk orchid and put it behind the preserved orchid to bring out the red shade more.
