    So, I have already commented on a few white sapphire posts that I had read before I got my ring-- but I decided I LOVE my ring so much that it deserves a post to itself!  My Fi and I have been engaged for a while, but we finally got the perfect setting and the perfect stone together!

    I am so excited to have a white sapphire (no offense at all to Diamond ladies-- they just aren't my thing and I have some personal and ideological preferences that led me to a white sapphire).  It is so beautiful and sparkly!!  I love it because it is just SO me.  I can't wait to show it off-- and I can't wait to see what all of the people who heard I was getting a white sapphire and basically rolled their eyes and all but called my FI cheap will say when they see how beautiful it is.

    (please excuse the not-so-great quality of the picture here-- my digital camera is on its death bed, but here is my photo shoot with my "something blue" wedding shoes)

    It is gorgeous and if it's what you want, then to hell with the eye rollers...it looks very vintage-y to me! I've never heard of a white sapphire!

    @anchors-- Sapphires come in all different colors, blue, pink, orange, white, etc.  My FI is a bit more of a traditionalist than I am, so I think it might have bothered him a little bit if I had chosen a ring that looked nothing like an e-ring, so a white sapphire seemed like the perfect compromise!  And the setting is from the Scott Kay "vintage collection".

    White Sapphires look a lot like diamonds to the naked eye, but they are a little more icy- they don't quite have the "fire" that a diamond does, but they are still very pretty.  They are also very hard and durable (second only to diamonds), so I won't have to worry about knocking my ring around a little bit.  We purchased our stone from The Natural Sapphire Company.

    @texaslawgirl-- If you insist  ;)

    (This is the best one that I could get-- I need to use my FI's DSLR to get better shots than mine is giving me)

    I think the ring is gorgeous. And, even though we could only see a peak of the shoes, they look great!

    Gorgeous! I love white sapphires!

    I probably wouldn't have gone with a diamond, either, if mine wasn't an estate piece. I don't think white sapphires are cheap at all - they definitely beautiful in their own right, not a "diamond replacement."

    That is gorgeous! So cool! Mine is an antique ruby, and i love having a solitaire ring that is NOT a diamond. Some people think it's wierd, but most people find it surpisingly pleasing. =)

    Beautiful! Way to be yourself and make the best choice for you! Non-traditional rings and wonderful- and the whole diamond tradition hasn't been around that long. I think more and more girls are choosing a gemstone and I say more power to em! And it is durable-- I dinged my white sapphire yesterday pretty hard and absolutely nothing happened.

    Beautiful stone and awesome setting!

    Love love love your ring. I have a tanzanite e-ring that I love, but tanzanite isn't very durable. We found this out after we got it. I am looking for a pretty right hand ring and this might be the route I go.

    Your ring is gorgeous! I really want a white sapphire as well. Did you get the setting from the Natural Sapphire place too? Or did you order the stone loose and have it set elsewhere? I'm in love with a setting from Brilliant Earth but I don't want a diamond or blue sapphire. How does that work exactly?
