I was freaking out a bit because I’ve had the dress for a couple months now and wasn’t sure if I would still like it, etc.
But I love it 🙂 Yay!!
I took the pics by balancing my camera (with a dying battery) on a nearby shelf and hitting the 10 second timer. So I apologize for any unfocused pics haha. I had to run into place and hold up the belt quickly 🙂
This was a custom Augusta Jones dress from Kleinfeld (seriously the thing is worth more than my car lol). It was definitely a huge splurge for me, but dress and photography were my two most important things. I will save by making my own invites, centerpieces, etc. The dress is the top of “Marilyn” and the bottom of “Janice.”
The sparkly belt I tried on at Kleinfeld was $700!!! So while I was in New York, I checked out the trim stores and found this gorgeous trim for my belt for under $50. I will attach it to my satin belt that comes with the dress (that’s why I’m holding it up like that).
I also found these gorgeous crystal buttons on Etsy for about $10 out the door (for 20) that I’ll replace the satin covered ones with (those are pretty too, but the crystals were so beautiful and fun).
So yay, I’m getting excited now! I contacted the seamstress I want to use and am just waiting to hear back.
So Bees, do you like it?

I love it!!! I tried on dresses at Kleinfeld but they were not nice to me : (
It looks gorgeous on you! I cant wait to see it fitted and with the crystal buttons and completed belt.

Absolutely gorgeous. No reason for dress regret at all! I think the crystal buttons will really take it from classic/sweet to just a bit more glam.

Thanks girls!! I am soooo excited! My consultant, Erika (who does not film) was AWESOME and super sweet. The Saturday that I went in, I was so tired, hungry, thirsty (driving all day from Pennsylvania from Michigan the night before), and I was so completely out of it. Ugh. She was worried that I wasn’t enjoying myself! I was just really tired, lol. But she helped me find the dress within 4 dresses I think?? The next day when I went in to say “Yes” (hehe), I was feeling much better and was really happy. I had to quickly interrupt her appointment to give her a big thank you hug!
…and just for fun, here is what I had as my “dress pic” when I wanted to obsess haha. Go Microsoft Paint and stellar don’t-really-care PhotoShop skills lol!!…

What a stunning dress!
I think the belt and buttons will set off the lace perfectly. I’m in awe 😉
