I received a SHOWER gift very late in the game, as in one week before the wedding. The gift was ordered, they didn’t come to the shower, it took awhile to coordinate the delivery.
One week before the wedding I opened it and I forgot to mail a thank you card right away. Now I’m writing thank you cards for the wedding. The card was signed by the woman, not her husband included.
Should I include the thank you for that gift as well in the same thank you card for the wedding gift (wedding gift by her and husband, shower gift just by her)? Should I write two cards? Mail the shower one tomorrow and the wedding ones when the rest are done? (I plan to mail them all together).

@MrsGatito: I’d send the shower one right away and then send the wedding one with the rest.

it doesn’t look weird since the wedding happened already? should I apologise that it’s late? we went on our honeymoon right after the wedding and got back a few days ago.

@MrsGatito: If I were you I’d just send 1 card mentioning both gifts: “Dear Jim and Jane, Thank you so much for the wedding present, and Jane, thank you especialliy for the shower gift.” Not verbatim, but something like that. 🙂
Sending 2 cards just seems kind of clunky to me, and overly laborious for all involved. Especially since you only got the shower gift 1 week before the wedding, I don’t think it’s weird at all.

@MrsGatito: p.s. I wouldn’t apologize about being late, either… I really don’t think you are late at all.

Ditto what stillme said. No one expects immediate TYs for gifts a week or two before the wedding. Why are you waiting to mail them all at once? Keep a log if you have to (makes it easier!), but I’d send them as you go- nice to get them out the door!

@rebwana: i just thought it would be easier to keep track, but I guess I could mail them as I go.
