I’m crying with tons of excitement. I found my DRESS!!! Recently I posted asking you all which dress I should choose from.
Either Atelier Diagonal, which is my mother’s favorite dress…. OR
Sabelle by Maggie Sottero, which I liked better:
After reading through the blogs and spending countless hours looking at pictures of me in both dresses, I started to realize just why I was having such a hard time making a decision- MY BREATH WAS NOT TAKEN AWAY BY EITHER DRESS. I was choosing between two dresses that I enjoyed, but I did not love.
This past weekend I agreed to go to another Bridal shop with my MoH, and try on Sabelle one more time. I just graduated with a degree in Neuroscience, and as you can tell I like to make decisions based upon logic and many repeat experiments. (Yes, I know I’m silly!)
Low and behold I tried on a different dress by Maggie Sottero, Ambrosia… My breath was taken away- I could not hold back the tears as I saw myself in the dress that I knew I would be wearing when I show my future children my wedding photographs. I did not even realize I could feel this way. It was like a dream come true! The dress that I tried on was in my size and in the perfect color.
I’m so excited to show my FH this dress, and I can’t wait to see his jaw drop as I walk down the aisle!
Am I the only one who cried when they saw their perfect dress? It is not normal for me to be so emotional! Tell me your story!

I cried!! I had went dress shopping several times with various close friends and family but never found the dress that took my breath away. I was on a trip out of town to visit FH and I’s best friend (who is actually going to perform the ceremony and marry us!) and He offered to take my dress shopping. I had always wanted to ask him to go, but felt bad since he is a guy and I assumed he was interested. Him and his wife took me, and after trying about 20+ dresses, I put on……the sabelle!!! I came out of the dressing room speechless and as soon as I looked in the mirror I started crying. Cant wait to wear her!!!

I love the last Maggie. So pretty.
My story – When I first got engaged I felt like I wanted a short dress. At the time it was really hard to find tea length dresses. I finally found one I loved at a girlfriends bridal shop. Unfortunately it was discontinued and the one she had was too small. For weeks I called every bridal shop in the country that carried this brand. My mom is two states away, and I finally found it five minutes from her house. Duh, I probably should have started there.
But, I couldn’t stop looking at all the pictures in the magazines of all the long beautiful dresses. My FH is so sweet. He told me to wear the short one for the reception and go out and buy my dream dress. So we went shopping together. We found a pretty Essesence of Australia dress at a sample sale that he fell in love with, so we bought it. It was ok, but not my dream dress. I was totally planning on wearing it because my FH loved it.
Fast forward a few months, I was looking for a dress for my BM who is really hard to fit. I was waiting for a sales lady when I noticed the manager (I had met her before) unpacking the most beautiful dress I had seen. A stunning Oleg Cassini ball gown in ivory with flower appliques. I practically ripped it out of the managers hands and checked the size. She was laughing at me and asked if I wanted to try it on. Duh, I was halfway to the fitting room before she got the sentence out of her mouth. It was perfect, I started crying and called my FH. He just said “bring me a picture of it, and come and get the credit card” OMG!? Seriously!? He said you only get to do this once, I want you to have your dream. It was truely the dress I had in my head from the begining.
I thought my mom would have a fit over me have three dresses. She was really cool about it and suggested that we use the dress that the FH and I got at the sample sale for a TTD session. Perfect! Thanks to my awesome man and a supportive mother, my dream is coming true.
Sorry the pics are so big, don’t know how that happened.

@tksjewelry: I love your story! It sure sounds like you are marrying a GREAT guy. He wants to make you happy on the special day that you two will share for the rest of your lives! I love all 3 of your dresses, and I totally see why you chose all of them. Which one will you be wearing at your ceremony and at your reception?

first – reception
second – TTD
third – ceremony
Thanks, I still lust over the Maggies, but I am alittle square and the roucheing (sp?) made it more so. I am so jealous of these girls that are so rocking them (still love mine though).
